Organic Planet Worker Co-op

This is a nice little shop not too far away from our Airbnb on Chestnut. We found everything that we needed for our super-long 40hr train ride to Montreal(no vegan food in the dining car:( )

The guy working in the store was super friendly. The deli has fresh juices and smoothies, and we got some fresh hummus and tempeh patties...can't wait to try them.

This tiny granola-esque co-op packs a lot into a small space: their selection of vegan grocery items is on par with bigger Winnipeg venues like Vita Health on Osbourne and Fresh Carrot (formerly Organza); they have a more-than-decent organic fruit and veggie selection (including awesome juicy dried dates), a nice vegan chocolate section at the front, and, best of all, a vegan deli counter (with plenty of gluten-free options). The location is cute, too.

Only been once, has a good selection of vegan items I routinely buy. Prices are a little more, but not by much. Friendly staff.

When you first walk in, you get the impression that this is a tiny store. Yet if you start shopping, you'll find just about everything you're looking for. Their bulk section is pretty impressive and includes a large selection of dry herbs and spices. Everything is organic, and they're very conscientious about offering up local and fair trade products whenever possible. Their deli is totally vegan, and although I don't eat there regularly, everything I've had has been delicious.

Love the hummous sammies! Best place for mad conversation, organic chocolate indulgence and fresh veggies. Cant beat the power of the smoked organic bison sausage. Very persuasive. Guaranteed to weaken even the hardest veggo.
