Takeaway vegan bakery and patisserie with cakes, sourdough bread, croissants, and more. Fresh bread is made every hour. 테이크아웃만 가능한 비건 베이커리입니다. 케익과 사우어 도우 빵, 크루아상 등을 판매합니다. 수시로 빵을 만듭니다. 영업시간은 월~일 10:00~20:00입니다. Reported closed Dec 2019.
I was super excited to try this place as I saw many pictures on insta of the pumpkin cube cut in half showing the chunky 🎃. Great selection of bread, korean azuki bean bread, injeolmi bread.. soft and chewy.
I trusted the indication on the labels for the brownie and their cookie and I felt sick after eating them. It said “gluten free” - I even contacted them after and they ignored my messages. Super disappointing. The staff has absolutely no knowledge of what gluten is, they were so confused (I asked them in korean!!)
I ll update my review when they ll stop writing gluten free on pastries that are NOT gluten free. Made me sick right after and this is unacceptable.
I had to double check that they were vegan because I saw the croissants and they looked too good to be true (they were glistening with what looked like eggwash, later discovered to be sticky glaze) ... but guess what? DREAMS DO COME TRUE and I got my croissants!
Not much seating, more of a grab and go kinda place!
Staff were lovely and were patient with my slow Korean when I asked questions.
Awesome to see vegan croissants available in this city!!! Sad that majority of the items were individually plastic-wrapped (not the croissants though!!)
This location offers amazing bakery products - but for take away only. Most of their creations taste sooo good: Texture, taste (sweetness and saltiness) and aroma are by no means falling short of anything compared to regular, non-vegan Korean baking.
They offer creative products ranging from unsweetened morning rolls, ciabatta and toast to dessert-like items such as sweet buns, muffins and filled breads.
I especially love their ciabatta options, which are soft, not too greasy, juicy inside and flavorful of e.g. wasabi or mugwort. :)
!!! If you are allergic to gluten, please make sure to tell staff about it! So they help you find something that is suitable. As far as I know, they use gluten in most of their products - perhaps people who are highly sensitive will want to be careful. !!!
This is a very nice little bakery with lovely baked goods (they have some kind of bread horn filled with chocolate mouse and dipped in chocolate and it’s soooo good!).
The staff is nice and smiling.
Only thing I would have liked the place to have is a seating area with space for people to enjoy it there. It’s more of a takeaway bakery.
This is by far the best vegan pastries in Seoul. The bread is fluffy as milk breads should be, and is super nostalgic for anyone that familiar with East Asian sweet milk bread. The owners are also super nice and very helpful, since we were also travelling with a nut allergy, and we were given free scones on our way out!
If you are in search of seating for enjoying your pastries, there is a Starbucks with upper floor seating at Mangwon Station that serves pretty well.
We tried a few different baked goods, including a tofu and veggie roll, pumpkin bread, and a chocolate croissant. All were fresh and delicious! The owner even gave us a sesame cream pastry for free after she saw us peeking at it. It was also so good.
I would definitely recommend this bakery if you are in the area. Also, there is an amazing outdoor/indoor market around the corner with lovely produce and fresh tofu.
I came here too often while I was in Seoul, and when I return I definitely will go back as much as I can. This place is one of my all time favorites and I can’t get enough of it! I almost always got the pain au chocolat which is perfectly flaky and soft at the same time. I also love the coconut cream bread which you can find in the fridge in a white looking bun. It’s superb! The closest thing I can equate the cream to is custard that you find in donuts which I always used to love. As well, the shop owner is so kind and gave me free bread since I came so often- namely the red bean bread, a flat looking pastry with pecans on it, and a scone. I would recommend all- these goodies really remind me of the days I wasn’t vegan. If you can come to this spot you won’t regret it!
I haven’t had a pain au chocolat since going vegan 16 months ago, but for just 3300 I had one of the most delicious I’ve ever had (vegan or not) here. They also have brownies and cream buns, among other things. Yum!
Seoul offers a variety of vegan bakeries, but this is one of the highlights, although it is quite small.
The owner is very friendly and will gladly answer your questions about any ingredients.
Tends to sell out towards late afternoon, so come here early for a good selection!
It's always a pleasure to visit here. The bread here is good, prices are reasonable and people are friendly. Give it a shot and you won't be disappointed.
Wow! I live nearly 1.5 hours from here, but wish this could be the Bakery that I always buy things from. The Baker was extremely kind and helpful trying to explain each of the different pastries to me. I purchased a huge variety of things and was super impressed. The blueberry/red/green bean pastry with nuts and crumble on top was amazing. I also am totally in love with the coconut cream filled bun and chocolate croissant. Yum! I hope I can make it back soon. Please support this excellent business.
my favorite bakery!! even if wasn't vegan, i think it would still be my favorite bakery :0 he makes super yummy things... no cakes though! but really... ive tried so many stuff from here and they were all very impressive! notable impressive points:
pizza roll: actual pizza dough! yummy wilted veggies inside
So for those that remember Kotmil, the vegan bakery & cafe that was once located in Changbi Publishers, this is the same bakery with a different name!
Offers both Western and Korean style breads, incl. coconut cream filled buns, "pizza" bread, red bean buns, mini cookies, sandwich bread in loaves, etc. The owner is super friendly and always gives me something for free with my purchase. Everything is delicious and prices are actually quite up to par with "normal" Korean chain bakeries (i.e. Paris Baguette, bakeries in Hyundai malls, etc).
Only con is that there is no seating and the place is pretty small, so it's more of a grab-and-go experience.
