Healthy home made ital food

A very informal place in a lovely location offering delicious, freshly cooked ital food. 100% vegan with very generous portions. Many locals stopped to get their lunch here. It was a very welcome break from the boring, poor quality food offered by my cruise ship. Absolutely recommended l.

Pros: Healthy food, Locally run small business , Generous portions

Amazing vegan, ital food right in downtown St. Johns

We had a wonderful vegan lunch, with traditional Antiguan food including fungi, as well as great ital specialities like chunks. I highly recommend this place to anyone seeking an authentic ital meal.

Pros: All vegan, all natural

Cons: Food sells out quickly

The food surpassed expectations and are far more affordable than restaurants in Antigua. #Veganuary

Cassava balls were everything

So many amazing options. Never seen breadfruit juice before and it was like a straight up milkshake. Run by super sweet people, saw another guy bring his own container which might be the move. Try the fungee and the cassava balls. Would have gone back if we had more time. Will be back if we get the chance.

Great food, local gem

We visited One Stone twice during our 9 day trip to Antigua. We loved the vibes - it’s a great place to blend in with the locals. It can accommodate both fast foodies or healthy eaters. Would recommend the cassava and the Ital sauce (it’s a soupy veg sauce that you can add on top of your food). Everything we tried was great! Homemade juices as well.

all vegan place in antigua!

I visited here a month back when i was in Antigua and found this place through happy cow. It's an outdoor shack which has hot food cooking in pots and they have a small hot counter where they keep things like pea cakes, potato cakes, bread pudding etc. I ate a small dish with coconut rice and tofu which was delicious. Then I got lots of the pea cakes, cauliflower and potato cakes and a zucchini pancake to take away (all fried). They also make juices which are quite full of sugar, but there were 2 I think listed as sugar free. They also had awesome banana cake!!

Pros: all vegan, good comforting food. reasonably cheap

Cons: none

Vegan like no other place

We arrived at 1pm on Saturday and the stall was empty and we thought we missed them, but luckily their van pulled up and they quickly set up their warmers, pots, signs, bins, etc. I guess that is island time for you. A crowd started to gather with no real line but the guys behind the counter kept track and pointed to the next up. There were two "lines" for two types of food and each had a big menu sign that you stood in front of. One sign listed mostly fried items like pea balls, cassava balls, spinach balls, pizza and other fried patties, and those items were in a heated glass cabinet that made it easy to point to what you want. The other menu board listed items that they served out of various covered tureens and warming trays. Apparently you get a choice of a large or small styrofoam box and they fill it for you with any or all of the items on the board, as long as it all fits in the box. I paid $20 in EC dollars for the large box. That's my guess on how pricing worked for the buffet menu. This was absolutely the BEST food I had over my 9 day stay.

Pros: You get a lot of food and it is very VERY tasty

Cons: It's not very clear on how the lines work , I thought they opened at 11 but they opened at 1

Friendliest ital shack

These guys work hard everyday to bring St Johns great veggie food. If you come at 11am, you get the full selection, but don't think about it too long as it goes quick! If you're come later in the afternoon there's a lot less choice but the staff have more time to chat and they are really friendly, interesting people.

Pros: Yummy food, Huge variety, Friendly owners

Cons: Not obvious how the queuing system works
