Wonderful - Edit
What an amazing experience! It's always great to eat in a gastronomical restaurant, but to know it's fully vegan is even better.
Read moreIt would be too long to talk about each dishes, but I will say some were amazing, some good and some a bit disapointing.
The theme when I visited (30th of December 2021) was humanity. All dishes were about the big bang, the planets, Greek gods and godesses, Adam and Eve, etc. It was nice but sometimes maybe too much concept. To reveal the menu, we had to pop a balloon, it illustrated the big bang. It's fun to do but what terrible sound. We were the last to come in so we heard only our balloon pop, but I can't imagine what it felt for the people that heard almost 10 balloon being popped...
Finally, the service didn't felt good enough for a 1-star restaurant. Instead of having always the same one or two waiter/waitress to come to our table, it was always different ones. It felt like none of them wanted to talk about the dish, like we say in French "ils se refilaient la patate chaude". Most of the time, it was the sommelière who presented the dish because she also brought the wine pairing and it felt like she didn't know very well the dishes.
If you have the opportunity to try Ona, do it. It's a wonderful experience and I hope they'll continue to innovate in vegan cooking.

A ce niveau on se doit d'honorer la réservation faite et respecter le client peut importe la raison.
Manque de sérieux évident et expérience qui ne sera pas renouvelée.
Le pire de tout cela c'est que ça dénigre la cuisine végétale qui n'en a vraiment pas besoin !!
Je ne vous remercie pas pour l'expérience.

This place used to be fabulous but they got the Michelin star and now it is the cliché of a snooty French restaurant. The server started out by telling us that each course represents a feeling and I knew this meant trouble. Then they start bringing you these teeny tiny courses, a lot of liquids and no bread. At one point there is a course that is supposed to represent emptiness ‘le manque’ and they bring you an empty bowl. Another time they spoon curry powder in the palm of your hand and you are supposed to lick it off. If we had not been with friends, I would have left.
Read moreService was okay but they had so much to memorize for each dish and the server was constantly tripping over her words. We had been served our second course before we had a drop of water or wine even though we ordered both.
I was so insanely excited about this restaurant getting a star but I was extremely disappointed. All 4 of us left hungry saying it was an experience we will never forget. Our friends were not vegan and I feel like they will never step a foot in a vegan restaurant again.
1 hours drive from Bordeaux and 515€ for 4 people.

C'est la troisième fois que nous venons à l'ONA, et nous tenions à déguster le nouveau menu après l'obtention de l'étoile Michelin. Ce qui était jusqu'alors incroyable et délicieux l'est encore plus aujourd'hui! On ne va pas à l'ONA pour manger, mais pour un véritable voyage culinaire de l'ordre du fantastique. N'hésitez pas et venez vivre cette fabuleuse expérience.

Gastronomy at last - Edit
We came here for lunch and the 14th July 2021. We has a table next to the kitchen that I liked as I is interesting to see/hear how the team work together especially when the restaurant has just opened again after covid. The food was excellent, we had a delicious amuse bouche of rhubarb coulis, faux gras and red pepper crumble with ground ivy. For starter we had cold cucumber soup with garden herbs, melon sorbet that was truly one of the best starters we had ever tasted. The main course which was stuffed courgettes with buckwheat, pepper cream with coriander. This was good but not up to par with the other dishes, the courgettes were a little too underdone and the purée of potatoes cold w-in comparison to the rest of the plate. The dessert was a tartare of pineapple with imut pepper and coco cream, this was very refreshing. The wine list is excellent full of natural wine from which we selected a chardonnay piecette. The service still needs to improve in terms of delicacy and conviviality, however one can understand that this is a brand new team and we are sure that this restaurant will continue to improve and excel in all they do. We throughly enjoyed our lunch and cannot recommend highly enough this restaurant! Bravo!

Nous y avons mangé il y a plusieurs années. J'avais conditionné le weekend autour d'un restaurant vegan, nous avons donc fait 5h de route presque juste pour manger à Ona, et bien on ne l'a pas du tout regretté!

Fantastique soirée dans ce restaurant avec sept services sur le thème « courge et poivre » ! Découverte de saveurs nouvelles, usage pertinent des herbes aromatiques exceptionnelles comme l'œillet passion. Service attentif, quantités parfaites... J'ai pris l'accompagnement en vin, c'était très bien conçu. Rien à redire ! Et à toutes les tables, véganes ou pas, tout le monde était enchanté.

Fine vegan cuisine in the Michelin Guide! - Edit
ONA is a vegan restaurant awarded by the prestigious Michelin Guide and Gault et Millault. It's the first time a 100% vegan restaurant appears in such guides. And it deserves it! The food is amazing and fine, plenty of flavors and healthy. I spent the New Year's Eve there and it was gorgeous! Their was plenty of delicious meals, starters, desserts, homemade cheese, for a very decent price. I recommend to try this place if you visit the Bassin d'Arcachon. You won't regret it. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is fresh and pleasant.

For dinner there is a fixed price fixed menu. Amuse bouche (hummus with cassis), entrée (cheese cake with popcorn and apple), main (soy patty completely different from the usual, potato nest, assorted veggies), cheese (delicious enough to convert a cheese addict), dessert (cookie, fondant apple, meringue and apple sorbet) and gourmandises (coconut Rocher and bergamot Turkish delight) all included for 40€.
A glass of wine will set you between 5 and 7€. Coffee is 2€. Tap water (carafe) is free.
Pros: 100% vegan and bio, Fine dining
Cons: Too far away to visit often, Need a reservation for dinner (Saturday certainly)
