Read moreWe ate here twice, once for lunch (from the set menu) and once for dinner (a la carte menu). For me, unfortunately the food didn’t live up to expectations.
The dishes were hit and miss, some lacking seasoning and/or came out cold. The dessert from the lunch set menu - sugarcane jelly - had the gloopy consistency of slime and was inedible. The tempura veg bowl felt like it needed a sauce or dressing, requested some soy sauce. The best dish was the chick’n burger my partner ordered.
Service could be very slow as well, at dinner it took about half hour for them to bring our drinks from the fridge. They appeared understaffed as the waitress was run off her feet.
Pros: beautiful historic venue, very affordable considering location
Cons: dishes not hot enough & lacking seasoning, slow service

The location is wonderful, in a beautiful courtyard near the Plaza de Armas. The service was great & the options for the menu del dia were very diverse. We had the ceviche, corn soup, pasta, dessert & tea for 15 PEN. All were of very good quality & there are additional options off the menu as well as another menu de dia for 25 PEN that includes even more options. The quantity of food was too much for me as I could not finish it all! They are a vegetarian restaurant but will happily make eveything vegan for you if requested. The best thing is they also sell vegan products such as tofu, cheese, seitan & ice cream! If you have been to Arequipa you know it is hard to find vegan food in the grocery stores so this place is a lifesaver!

Fantastic daily menu available all day for the incredible price of 15 sols. Included a hot salad, a corn soup, options for the main (we chose a quinoa and soy dish, and a pesto pasta) and a sugar cane vegan jelly for dessert, as well as a refresco to drink. Set in a beautiful old building in the courtyard of Casona Ugarte, an absolute must visit for vegans in Arequipa.

There were two menus of the day which were all vegan (one for 14 pen and one for 25 pen). We chose the cheaper one and I changed the dessert for an alfajore for 1 pen extra. The food was nothing special but for the price it was good! The staff and the location were really nice!

O lugar é lindo, fica num pátio de um casarão antigo no centro histórico. Bom atendimento, preço justo. Meu marido pediu a parrillada e estava maravilhosa! Eu pedi o menu do dia e a comida decepcionou um pouco. Entrada boa, minestrone saboroso mas estava meio frio e prato principal também estava frio. O arroz estava sem sabor e a abóbora com gosto muito acentuado de cominho. A sobremesa que era uma gelatina de papaya não estava agradável.

Stunning courtyard setting and great service. Many options on the menu with different combos available. Loved the wontons, raw salad and the 2 bowls we tried (Arab and crunchy). The pasta with huancaina sauce was nothing special but the faux meat burgers weren't bad. Several choices of cake for dessert - the 3 we tried were fantastic. Very full after we left. Highly recommend this place!

Vegan & vegetarian cuisine has improved over recent years. More imagination with dishes would make it out of the ordinary. There are better options in Arequipa.

Wir hatten das Mittagsmenü bei Omphalos um 13 Soles. Der Preis ist sehr günstig, die Qualität aber auch nicht die beste. Das Mittagsmenü bestand aus einem Appetizer, einer Suppe, einer Hauptspeise und einer Nachspeise. Alle Gerichte haben etwas langweilig und ungewürzt geschmeckt. Der Ananassaft war mit Wasser aufgespritzt und kaum zu trinken.

This place is located inside a courtyard and have a full vegan menu to choose from.

Prices are very reasonable and the service was fast too.

Food was all pretty good and reasonable prices. The lunch menu seems like a good deal. It’s all vegan (you have to ask for cheese). I liked the wontons and veggie skewers a lot, the entrees for me were okay. The terrace was lovely to sit at.

Unlike most restaurants, you have to ask for the food NOT to be vegan😄Such as ask to add cheese etc., so everything is vegan friendly. The chocolate cake was tasty too.
