Great value

I had the thali deal which was $7.50 for a vegan rice, naan and 3 curries - with free refills within a 45 minute window! The food was really flavoursome and filling, a very generous amount of food for a great price.

Pros: Full vegan thali available, Other vegan options such as sides, Amazing price

Great value for money

Amongst the expensive places to eat in Melbourne’s busy CBD this little gem provides quality taste and doesn’t break the bank!

I opted for an all you can eat thali for $7.50 and it was incredible!!! You can have as many refills as you like, although I only managed one. Delicious.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Inexpensive , Soul food

Amazing price and tasty!

Staff were very friendly and prices were amazing!!! Was very clear to work out which options were vegan and/or could be made vegan. Even the naan bread could be made vegan!

Pros: Lots and lots and lots of options, Crazy cheap, Can go back for free refills

Cons: Staircase up is graffitied all over, May be a little scary to find it alone!

$7.50 thali, fantastic value!

Don't expect luxury here - it is a basic offering of 2 curries, a dahl, rice and naan (buttered or plain). The meal is basic but full of flavour and filling. A wholesome meal that left me pretty happy! The curries are quite watery and do have a lot of coriander sadly. Prices seem really reasonable for a la carte options like drinks and desserts (vegan cake slice offered for $3 I believe).

Tasty food

Great vegan options plus friendly staff.
Reminder of time in Asian Indian restaurants overseas with watered down dishes but just perfectly flavoured to satisfy the strong flavour lovers too!

Excellent value for money

I got the Thali meal, which is 7,5$ for a eat-as-much-as-you-can counter refill plate.

The staff was super sweet and friendly.

Cheap

Curries are cheap but service is bad. I always have to wait ages for the vegan naan to be brought out. Free refills.

Pros: Vegan options , Free refills

Cons: Bland, Waiting times

Price increase

Note the price went up from $6.50 to $7.50. Not a big deal but figured I'd share. Curries were only ok. Nothing special and oily. Vegan naan was a treat at no extra cost. Good for a quick filling cheap meal.

Cheap!

There are several OM vegetarian outlets in the CBD. This one is located in RGIT Building, nearby the hotel I stayed. Incredibly cheap! Delicious Indian dishes, would be great if they were all vegan! All-you-can-eat Thaali at only $6.5. Servie was alright, the lady at the counter was rather rude.

An old favourite

I used to go here quite a bit back in the day to grab a cheap meal while I was studying. From memory, not everything was vegan but the basics (curry and rice) was and the staff was knowledgeable and would tell me what was what.

It's not fancy food, just (very) cheap basic curries but they're yummy and will make you full and happy.

Pros: Incredibly cheap, Yummy, Filling

Cons: It's pretty basic

A Melbourne vego institution

I would venture to say that the all-you-can-eat thaali meal could be the cheapest, most nutritious, most delicious meal that you can get in Melb. Highly recommended

Pros: Delicious, Cheap, Nutritious

quick, cheap & big

Small place on 1st floor with very cheap food 6.5$ and you can eat as much as you can. But don't expect a high quality & tasty food. For me it was too salty..

Don't come if you're either hungry or don't have all day

I came here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon, around 12:30. You go up to the counter, with a steam table filled with food, and pay a remarkably inexpensive A$6.50 for a "All You Can Eat Thali". You expect him to hand you a tray of food but, then--nothing. I go and sit down and notice eight other people sitting at tables with no food. Other people come in. He takes their money. Still, no food. About 15 mins after I come in he does come out with trays with food for everyone. A pile of rice, two pieces of naan, and small amounts of two curries. I try not to fill up on the naan and rice, but had some, and ate the curries (which tasted pretty good). Some minutes later he walked around of a plate of naan (which I still had some of). I asked him if I could get some more of the curries. Answer: "Sure, no problem." After sitting there for some time, no curries came. I finally left in frustration and went to Lord of the Fries (a veg hamburger fast food place) to get some more food. It gets 2 stars because the curries tasted ok.

Tasty and Cheap!

We had already eaten lunch but were a bit hungry so they let us share the all you can eat platter just not go back for more, Which was flexible of them I thought. The food was quite tasty - I love salt - but may have been a bit too salty for some. The amount of food was less than I expected (shallow dishes) but that wouldn't matter anyway cos you would usually get all you can eat...and for $6.50! It was definitely good value. The naan is what got me in but it was disappointing - not naan as much as crispy flat bread. Other than that though...the food was really good.

Pros: Tasty food, BEST VALUE EVER!

Cons: naan more like crispy flat bread

insanely afforable food!

as mentioned before: this is amazing value for anyone on a small budget! Melbourne is extremely pricey but this is a safety & affordable haven for any veg person.
OM vegetarian is located in Melbourne's very city centre near station flinder's street. The atmosphere is a little off-putting and cold, but food was tasty and a great variety of different flavours! I was a little anxious about asking for some more food, but others around me did the same, so I gave it a go - and it was no problem at all :)

Pros: price, price, location

Cons: atmosphere

Good only if you are on the high carb diet

The price is cheap at $6.50 for all you can eat but you only get two very watery curries with like one or two pieces of potatoes and very little beans. Even though it's cheap, I really don't feel that I am getting my money worth unless you are on the high carb diet.

Pros: Cheap, high carbs

Cons: No teal substance to the meal unless you want to b

YES, GO

Seriously, I went here 8 times when I was in Melbourne. In a city where you usually have to pay 13$ for a sandwich this is the cheapest and tastiest food you can get. Lovely staff, great location, a bit better than their other restaurant around the corner because this one is brighter, bigger and more comfy. All-You-Can-Eat means you get a big plate with usually some Lentil or Chickpea Curry, rice, and the most delicious Naan Bread (just ask for a vegan Thaali Meal and the Naan Bread will be vegan too) The Curry usually changes every few days but the dish itself stays the same. I love this place!

Pros: Great Price, Tasty, Lovely staff

It was a filling meal

We climbed the stairs to check the place out and then came back later to eat. The place was not crowded and with some nice background music, it was easy to have a conversation. The server brought the meal to our table and the lentils, rice, and naan made for a satisfying meal. We did not need seconds. Not fancy but agreeable.

Pros: Good value , Well spiced

Cheap, delicious feed in the heart of Melbourne

I had been to OM vegetarian in my pre-vegan days, but one phrase lured me back "Vegan Naan". I dragged my girlfriend along knowing that it would be a cheap, decent meal.

I ordered the vegan plate, only $6.50 with free refills. We waited a little while for the food to come out, since they were very busy, but still not that long on the scheme of things. The meals come with a vegetable curry, a bean/lentil based curry, rice, naan, and pickles. The non-vegan meal also comes with a small dessert. Everything, perhaps with the exception of the pickle, was delicious. The bean/lentil curry was among the best I've ever eaten, and I've eaten a lot.

If you're looking for a cheap, vegan meal in the heart of Melbourne, you really can't go past this place. Cheap, filling, delicious. That's all you can ask for.

Pros: Cheap, Filling, Delicious

Cons: Busy
