Celebrity chef with a big heart for veggies

Restaurant policy is to offer 50 % vegetarian dishes, and if you are vegan, they will be happy to cater for you. The owner, Ole Plogstedt, is well known in German TV and is also famous as tour-caterer for Rock bands like "Die Toten Hosen", „Earth, Wind & Fire", „Rosenstolz", „Fettes Brot", „Jan Delay", „Nightwish" a.s.o. At our first visit I felt like in vegan heaven. The ingredients are sourced locally as much as possible, chocolate, coffee, sugar and tea are Fairtrade products.

The second time we had a creative 7-course New Years Eve dinner. We were served really fancy food, nicely decorated as you only get it in star studded restaurants. O-so-yummy, we still rave about the red cabbage soup that was served in a "Weck" glass canning jar. Everything was very tasty and creative. If you love great food, no matter if you are carnivore, vegetarian or vegan, this is the place to go. The only downside so far is that their website is only in German.

You can find their weekly changing menu online, on their website or on facebook. A three-course vegetarian meal sets you back 30 Euros, 4 courses 37 Euros. Meat-eaters have to pay 6 Euros more, yeah! (Prices in January 2013). A la carte eating is also possible. If you have a special request, just ask the friendly, competent and well-trained staff.

Pros: 50 % vegetarian, vegan friendly, well-trained staff

Cons: only German website
