🌱Ole Vegan offerings 🌱

Have been here several times & always impressed by staff & service and fresh made food. Family owned and they are lovely ! As a descendant of Basques , I enjoy talking with owners in Spanish.

Lovely restaurant, lovely choice

Really lovely restaurant, great atmosphere, really good, efficient staff. Plenty of food choices. Sometimes with tapas restaurants, while they provide veg options its a struggle to pick 5 or 6. Here it felt like a struggle to narrow it down to five. Like other people have said the cauliflower was a real highlight.
It was busy and we had to book well in advance so bear that in mind but it is worth the effort.

Pros: Lots of choice, Great staff

Cons: No clue on whether drinks were vegan

Beautiful lunch

Pre vegan, we ate here often, so when they launched their new vegan menu (2019), of course we had to visit.

The restaurant is situated within the Lawns / Stokes buildings, opposite the west gate of the castle.

It was incredibly busy, but we were swiftly shown to our pre booked table and presented with menus.

The addition of the vegan menu being recent, the wine list is not yet updated and Barnivore was unable to assist in identifying any vegan wines, so we had the house Spanish beer, which is vegan.

We ordered 5 tapas dishes - garlic paprika mixed veg, mushrooms in white wine, the bread basket with alioli, patatas bravas and an option from the specials, leek and spinach potato croquettes. Even if you're not a bread lover, make sure have some of the vegan alioli. Simply the best aioli I've ever had, before or after going vegan, including at Ole Ole!

Its clearly early days for this restaurant in providing vegan options, but its unusual to see such a well thought through and carefully managed selection from somewhere just finding their feet.

Beautifully prepared food in lovely surroundings, with great service.

We will be back!

Pros: Nice vegan options , Vegan churros, Staff knowledgeable about vegan choices

Cons: Very busy, booking recommended.
