Not a lot of protein - Edit
Olamendi's earns points for offering a vegan menu, a thoughtful inclusion for those with dietary preferences. However, the lack of protein options beyond beans on the side was a drawback. Additionally, the vegetables were not sufficiently diced, affecting the overall taste experience. On a positive note, the service was commendable and with friendly staff.

Mid - Edit
Food is edible not really vegan just vegetables but it’s nice that they tried to have vegan options. Tortilla chips not vegan at all, if you want vegan chips it’s an additional five dollars for a lard free bag. Margaritas are very good but food overall is has low nutritional value just veggie options so they can say it’s vegan. Enchilada sauce was tasty but the dish still lacks nutrients. If you like potatoes, corn and salsa, this is your place otherwise try somewhere else.

3rd try- food still isn't good. - Edit
These guys were the first to make a large vegan menu before anyone else around, I appreciate the effort but I've given it a try 3 times over a few years and this was the last time. Sadly my husband and I agreed that we'll not be going back. It's not traditional Mexican at all. More just healthy tasting food with tortillas.

Just another “Meh-xican” restaurant - Edit
This place has a large following in southern Orange County. Made famous because President Nixon liked this place.
Read moreI’ve been twice, before I started eating vegan and I was left with a “meh” perspective on the food.
Now that I do follow and eat as a vegan I don’t even consider this location for Mexican meals.
Pros: Across the street fro the Pacific Ocean, Close to my home
Cons: Service is a bit lacking in my experience , Food is just okay

Have tried coming here multiple times and every time staff has excuses for closing over an hour early while signs, lights, and music are still on.

Meh - Edit
I feel bad giving this place such a low review but honestly the extra star is given because the location and restaurant are pretty cool and service was good. I like the fact that they have a dedicated vegan menu. But MAN the food was blah! It’s like they didn’t even season or salt the food. For reference I got the mushroom enchiladas, which were also incredibly expensive for what they were — literally just that. Mushrooms in corn tortillas with a red, flavorless sauce. Oh well, better luck next time. Also… why not make the chips vegan? Makes no sense.

Good food but expensive! - Edit
Enjoyed a recent takeaway from here but was surprised at the prices $14 for a salad and $21 for a couple of enchiladas. Also didn’t realize until after ordering and reading reviews that the tortilla chips may not have been vegan - given all the vegan menu options didn’t think to ask.

Great little place with a good vegan menu. The vegan bean dip is by far the best! We had enchiladas and potato taco that were very good. Beware that the chips are NOT Vegan. Jalapeno margaritas were exceptional!!

Beware beware the chips are fried with all the animal meat - Edit
He was our first time there we were traveling through coming from the beach, we saw this place on the happy cow app and decided to give it a try very disappointed in the service and the prices were pretty expensive lady named Claudia helped us and was very rude she asked me" are you a real vegan or what" I told her I was a real vegan just to humor her and then she told me that the chips were fried with all the meat just a FYI for anybody, it seems like we were ignored when tables around us we're getting service and food we ended up just walking out after 30 minutes.

Tasty Vegan Mexican Food - Edit
This place has a lot good things going for it:
Read more- dedicated vegan menu with several choices, burritos, enchiladas, and various specials
- really good chips and salsa and beans and rice
- right along the coast with ocean views
- lots of interesting authentic decorations, reminds me of Dia de Los Muertos
I ordered the special potato enchiladas covered in a green mole sauce. It was expensive but quite tasty. The green sauce could have been a bit smoother but I’ve never had this dish before, so perhaps this is how it’s supposed to be. The beans and rice were just about perfect in taste and texture. Also yummy chips and salsa with a good kick to it.
Lots of margaritas to choose from as well.
Service was great.
Pros: Dedicated vegan menu, Festive decorations and nice ocean view
Cons: Expensive specials, Wouldn’t mind a bit more variety

Vegan Burritos and Enchiladas - Edit
Not what we were expecting from the other reviews. The burritos were served wet style but not with enchilada sauce, they were smothered in runny salsa that had no flavor and just made the burrito soggy. Inside the burritos, flavorless just tasteless ingredients with no spices whatsoever. Enchiladas were the same, very disappointed with the flavorless dishes. Perhaps the good cook was out today?

Full vegan menu with lots of options for vegans who wants some mexican food. only thing that kinda sucks is they don’t have fake cheese. the burritos would definitely be better if they had cashew cheese or something like that. highly recommend the laguna burrito!

Awesome place! - Edit
When we first walked in, I was like, "wow!" We just found this place close by on happy cow, and just thought it would be a quick bite. Beautiful, fun decor, and the food tasted so incredibly fresh. The Santa Monica vegan burrito was amazing, friendly staff, and great atmosphere.

Food was good. Very large vegan menu available. Salsa was very fresh and tasty. Service was spotty. Had some yummy looking dishes on the vegan specialties menu, but they were about $20 each which seemed way overpriced. Put together my own combination platter instead, which they should have available on the vegan menu, but only have on the regular menu. Would go back again.
