Tasty food, friendly staff - Edit
Big portions and plenty of veg/vegan options. You can choose how you make up your okonomiyaki and add sauces yourself. Super tasty and drinks are cheap. Really friendly staff and they speak English well. Highly recommend

Tasty food and a fun experience - Edit
We went here because of the other positive reviews on HappyCow and we were not disappointed! There is a vegan/vegetarian menu on request. The place is cosy, we went late so luckily it wasn’t too busy (there was two of us and then one other couple). You get to see the food made in front of you which is fun, they do serve meat - so there is a risk of cross contamination, but we risked it anyway & I am glad we did!

Must-visit in Osaka - Edit
Okonomiyaki is a traditional Japanese dish. However, finding a vegan option is rare and finding one that is as amazing as here is impossible.
Read moreOther than the usually rather small meal sizes, at Oko you can decide between small, medium & large - but medium is definitely enough, even for the most hungry ones.
Plus, you can choose what vegetables you want in your Okonomiyaki. There's vegan Mayonnaise as well and if someone isn't feeling like Okonomiyaki there are other vegan and vegetarian options as well.
The atmosphere in this little shop is great and it kinda feels like home.
The staff is so nice and welcoming, fully understands veganism and all kinds of forms of vege. I was really happy.
Pros: AMAZING Okonomiyaki, Choose your vegetables, Big portion sizes

Great food and atmosphere - Edit
A cosy little place with a very welcoming host. It can be very busy but we got 5 of us in just after opening at 6pm. We had the okonomiyaki and yakisoba. You get to choose what vegies are in the okonomiyaki. Unless you are sharing or you're a giant DO NOT ORDER THE LARGE OKONOMIYAKI! Having gotten used to Japanese serving sizes I ordered a large because I was hungry. It was enormous. Basically two mediums stacked together. It could feed 4 people easily. It was delicious though and they have take away containers for left overs. Relaxing atmosphere. Cheap drinks. 5 stars.

Must have in Osaka! - Edit
I would give this 5 stars if I could. The okonamiyaki was cheap for the amount you get and sooo satisfying! I loved being able to experience an alterative to this traditional dish. The atmosphere is really nice and cozy, the owner is a great host and the drinks are 180 yen wich all made for a great night. Going back again today!

Best Vegan feed in Osaka - Edit
Would rate 10 stars if I could. The owner is so nice and accommodating, a must visit for any vegan in Osaka, I went here twice in my short stay. The fried noodles are also very tasty. A medium is definitely enough for once person.

FYI this place does allow smoking indoors after 10pm.

Fantastic atmosphere - Edit
Be careful not to order the large, it will be far too big!
Read moreWe had a great tome at Oko Okonomiyaki. The restaurant was small, but I wouldn’t have it anyway other way.
Ordering vegan was nice and easy. You got to choose which veggies and mushrooms went into your Okonomiyaki. A few minutes and a cheap beer later later you’re presented with a massive rectangular slab of an Okonomiyaki. Slap on the mandatory sauce and (egg free) mayo and off you go.
It tasted just as good as any other Okonomiyaki I’ve had, but with the added bonus of being cruelty free. The portion size is beyond generous and left me on the verge of a food coma.
The atmosphere was great too. Small, personal and almost “hostel-like”. The walls are adorned in messages written by customers, the music can be controlled by whichever table grabs the PS4 controller and the owner was friendly enough to give us her umbrella so we weren’t caught in the rain afterwards!
I highly recommend this place. It alone makes the visit to Shinsaibashi worthwhile.
Pros: Excellent Okonomiyaki , Wonderful staff, Cheap beer!

Amazing food and incredible service - Edit
The food here is delicious - i tried both the okonomiyaki and the soba. The one woman does both the serving and the cooking, and is so incredibly kind and gorgeous. She radiates happiness that is contagious. The serving sizes are massive and the drinks are cheap. I got the small and had enough for breakfast the next day. Vegan mayo is also available. 10/10

Highly recommend! - Edit
This restaurant was super cute and had a great vibe. The staff are extremely friendly and speak quite good English. Drinks were really cheap and the portion sizes of the (delicious) okonomiyaki were extremely generous! A large is enough to feed 2-3 people and a medium could feed two people as well. They have a seperate vegan menu (okonomiyaki and yakisoba) and check with you at the start if you're completely vegan or lacto-ovo vegetarian etc. Great place to go as a vegan/vegetarian or with omni partners/friends. Would definitely go back here!

The okonomiyaki was so good! You can choose your own toppings and the portion is really big. Bit expensive though. Also I haven’t tried anything besides the okonomiyaki yet.

5 stars, really. 10 even. Amazing food and atmosphere, extremely nice, friendly and helpful staff. An evening we will not forget and we're already planning to go back.
Read moreJapanese friendliness, whimsy and kawaii dialled up to 11. Sharing an M sized okonomiyaki will feed your base appetite for two, although getting one for yourself makes for great breakfast leftovers.
The description says "the staff can speak limited English" and makes it sound like it's not very good. It is definitely good enough to sort out all your food needs and have a nice little conversation about your trip.
Pros: Tasty food, Cheap drinks, Friendly, English speaking, staff

Nice food, but it's allowed to smoke there - Edit
We liked the food a lot, and the staff was very friendly, but we didn't find the place comfortable as it is VERY small and also we were unaware that it was allowed to smoke after 10PM. We went there late at night after arriving at Osaka and we were too tired to look for somewhere else when we notice the smoke situation, so if you hate smoke like us don't consider this place as an option after 10 PM.

So much food! - Edit
Would give 5 stars if it was possible. The staff are very friendly and make an effort to make sure they know your dietary restrictions. The food is great and there’s a lot of it! There’s the option to take left overs away with you. For the veggies/vegans you get to choose 5 toppings from a list. The drinks are supper cheap at only ¥180. The okonomiyaki was around ¥1000. It’s a small place and was full of locals when we went which is always a good sign that the food is good!

The first thing they ask is if you are vegan or vegetarian and they walk you through the ordering process. They use tofu leftovers instead of flour so its all gluten free. Drinks are also all 180 yen. Very friendly staff.

Vegetarian or vegan okonomiyaki - Edit
Very chilled place with friendly staff. You Can choose between different okonomiyakis of your choice of diet. The portions are also enough to get you full, I couldn’t finish a medium.
