delicious sweet pastries - Edit
The croissant and the choco hazel swirl were both very tasty, but a bit dry. If you’re lucky, you can watch the pastries being made.

Delicious pastries - Edit
We picked up breakfast at Okja a couple of times back in April. There's a bench outside but no indoor seating, so it's best for takeaway. We tried a few different pastries.
Read moreThe vanilla bean croissant had a nice, crispy bake. The icing and flavour was sweet and tasty.
The cinna swirl also had crispy pastry, along with a sticky filling and cream cheese topping which balanced the sweetness nicely - though I have more of a sweet tooth and would have been happier with regular icing.
The choco swirl was certainly sweet enough for me! It was fluffy and crisp in the right places and topped with a rich tasty chocolate spread. It was a real treat.
On the savoury front, we had a sausage roll. It was good and meaty and well-seasoned, with plenty of filling, and a nice crunch from the seeds on top.
The cheese and pesto swirl had good crispy pastry, and a tasty filling, with both the cheese and pesto flavours coming through.
Highly recommended for your pastry needs!

Delicious and surprisingly well priced - Edit
(Jun 2026 edit) reduced to three stars as they’ve started selling cow milk. so incredibly disappointing
Read moreI loved the vanilla croissant and the regular croissant and coffee were good. The price is outstanding for fresh pastries in London. Will go out of my way for these in the future

This is untrue. From what I have seen, their new branch has an option for dairy milk. This one is still fully vegan.

Best pastries I’ve had in London - Edit
I tried the cheese and pesto swirl, the pistachio and lemon swirl and the almond swirl. All of them were amazing. Flaky, buttery, the nut butter tasted like the actual nut, not a filled with sugars spreadable.

Awesome bakery - Edit
We bought there little breakfast. The pastries were so amazing and tastefull. We ate the pizza one, nutella styled and citron-pistachio swirls. I also drank oat latte which was good.
Read moreOnly minus thing was that they offer cows milk for drinks so the place is not fully vegan.
Pros: Pastries were all vegan, Many options, Friendly staff
Cons: They offer cows milk

Delicious pastries & high-quality coffee - Edit
The pastries are very delicious and freshly baked on-site (you can watch). The coffee and matcha lattes are excellent and have a rich flavor. The staff are polite, and even when things get busy, they stay on top of everything.

Fabulous pastries from an all-vegan bakery. Take out only, but a delicious treat if you’re in the area. Recommended.

No gluten-free options - Edit
Visited with a friend who bought the most incredible looking pistachio swirl, and said it was amazing.
Read moreUnfortunately, Okja have no gluten-free options at all, which is very unusual for London and was super disappointing. I completely understand concerns about cross-contamination, but there are many establishments with much smaller kitchens that are able to offer safe gluten-free options. There is much demand for gf stuff in the vegan space, so I really hope Okja consider this in the future.

Why give a bad rating just because they don‘t offer a glutenfree option? It's not as if they advertise it but don't actually offer it.

Good pastry - Edit
We tried a couple of pastries. The lemon poppy swirl was our favourite. The cinnamon swirl could have used a bit more cinnamon.

Will be back - Edit
I came here after someone had recommended this place recently and a friend wanted to visit Spitalfields market. The choice was larger than I had imagined and everything looked so good it was hard to choose. I went for something sweet, my friend for savoury and also a couple of hot drinks. I tried the Hoji latte, a sweet, softer kinda matcha. Everything was so good, the staff super friendly and it was nice to see the bakery/ process. Will definitely come back to try more flavours.

Hidden pastry heaven - Edit
We went there more than once during our long weekend in London. The place is in a not very busy street, you have a place to sit outside, but there are no tables nor place to eat inside, so it's focused on take away.
Read moreIt was very hard to choose what to get because everything looked so good and sounded so yummy - and they were! It's cool that you can see the bakers preparing the goods and working on the scales and machines, everything is prepared there!
They also do hot beverages and have a fridge with some other beverages. I would be in trouble if I had a place like that close to my home 😅

Cute bakery for take-away only - Edit
I went here to get breakfast and it’s tasty stuff. The pesto/cheese swirl was heated and very tasty. The lemon/poppy swirl and lemon/pistachio swirl were also good, but the dough was a bit too firm for my taste. The lemon/pistachio swirl had a rich pistachio filling that I enjoyed very much.
Read moreI also tried the miso/caramel matcha and the hoji-chai latte and both were good. However, they tasted like regular matcha and chai lattes to me.

Rare to find a fully vegan bakery but plesently surprised - Edit
Such friendly staff. Initially, we ordered 3 pastries between 2 people, then went back for a 4th when we got talking to the owner, who then gave us 2 free pastries to take to the airport with us. Although all were amazing, the standout was definitely the vanilla bean croissant and the sausage swirl.
