Try it before Canal Street Market closes 12/29 - Edit
Fast casual all vegan sushi nestled within Cansl Street Market. Ordered the signature Dahon roll with tempura broccoli. It was so good and a great snack after walking around in Soho.

Tried the California roll it was very tasty. Quite pricey but I think it’s justified

Managed to impress a meat eater - Edit
This is a food court style eatery inside the Canal street market. You order from a computer and wait for your order number to be called out to pick it up. There are some tables nearby you can sit at. It’s a pretty noisy, crowded place overall, very casual - good for a quick bite.
Read moreThe menu is very small. I had this square looking sushi thing which was a bit too salty for my taste. Sadly, only white rice is available.
My non-veg companion enjoyed his mushroom bowl a lot though. Said if he didn’t know it was mushrooms, he’d think it was meat. Several weeks after us eating here he keeps reminiscing about how good it was :)

Delicious food but no sustenance - Edit
When I decided to go vegan I decided that I would stop eating meat, but that does not necessarily mean I want to never touch protein again. I felt like the menu items at Dahon were so delicious but lacked any form of nutrition whatsoever. Everything was pretty expensive too, so it's pretty hard to leave with a filling meal without paying an arm and a leg. I really wanted to like Dahon and I cannot stress enough that my food was really tasty, but I was disappointed that I was not able to leave feeling satisfied.

Haute cuisine in a casual food hall - Edit
Seriously, this sushi is elevated. The flavors and textures are excellent and unexpected. Special shout out to the eggplant! So silky. So, so silky.
Read moreIt's all vegetables and rice (nothing with much protein) so it's not necessarily physically satisfying as a meal. But it's delicious. And it's art.
It's a little weird to eat such morsels in a food hall. But whatever - it's worth going.

The best vegan sushi! - Edit
Really great spot for vegan sushi at the Canal Street Market! I ordered the following items for takeout:
Read moreAvocado Truffle Oshizushi (set of😄- Very delicious with its creamy sauce and charred, truffle flavor. Set of 8 rolls.
Dahon Signature Roll (set of😄- Nice crunch from the fried broccoli. Topped with avocado and a generous amount of sauce. Probably my favorite roll I’ve tried so far!
Carrot Lox Nigiri (set of 6) - Tasty and sweet. A little too sweet for my taste. Wasn’t the biggest fan of the crunchy garnish on top.
Poke Ku Bowl - Refreshing mix of fried broccoli and oyster mushrooms with a tasty blend of sauces.
Friendly service! About a 10-15 minute wait for the food. Will definitely be coming back to try more items off their menu!

Cannot stop raving about it, best sushi I’ve had PERIOD - Edit
My friend and I were absolutely blown away by the quality, flavors, and texture that this sushi achieved. It is made fresh and takes a few minutes, but it is well worth the wait. Our favorite was the truffle avocado oshizushi, but we also ordered the special roll, carrot lox, and something else I can’t remember but was really tasty. I’m never doing a trip out here again without stopping here at least once each time. Counter-style bar seating right next to the chefs with standing tables nearby for overflow. I thought the prices were very reasonable - 2 rolls is just about right for a meal and is about $25. For the quality of the food I’d happily pay that again.

Wow! - Edit
This is located in a NYC Chinatown shopping/food mall. Nothing fancy--you order at the kiosk, grab a stool, and wait for the vegan sushi, which they prepare in front of you. But the sushi is great--as good a vegan sushi as I've had anywhere.
Read moreThere is no dessert here--but you can get some if you want at the Lazy Sundays kiosk in the same mall.
Pros: Great sushi, available restroom
Cons: Not fancy, not waiter served--just good food

Incredible sushi! - Edit
We loooove oh dahon, and we're so pleasantly surprised!! It can take them some time to make the sushi, but it's a small operation so it makes sense. But having had some of the best sushi in the bay area, we think this place compares! It's so so good. Highly recommend!

The best vegan sushi I've had! - Edit
I used to frequently go to the Canal Street Market to Bonsai Kakigori which closed😒 but excited to have a reason to go back!
Read moreI asked the sushi chef for recommendations of what to start with because the whole menu looked good to me. He suggested the Dahon signature roll, the truffle avocado oshizushi, the Pad Thai slaw and then we chose the carrot lox jalapeno roll. We thought everything was delicious, hard to choose a favorite but it came down to the Signature and the Carrot Lox rolls, both had surprisingly complex delicious flavors and textures, the truffle avocado was also yummy but more as expected, my flexitarian friend like the crunchiness of the Pad Thai but I found the flavor a bit underwhelming, I expected the peanut sauce to come through more than it did.
We ordered takeaway and stepped away to browse the rest of the market while our order was being made (bought some yummy vegan truffles from Daniel Corpus Chocolatier in another stall!) but when we returned saw 4 people who sat down at the counter after we ordered were having their food prepared, served to them, even ate and left before we got our order, so that wasn't great because we were on our lunch break from work and still had to get back to the office and eat! But considering there was only one person working the counter and making the food, quite understable that it is tough to juggle dining in customers with takeaway orders.
Also because we got takeaway I guess was the reason we didn't get any soy sauce or wasabi which I noticed the people at the counter had received with their meals, so heads up you may need to request them if you do to-go order and want this but honestly everything was so delicious and flavorful without out it. We are already planning a trip back to dine in, it really was the best vegan sushi I've ever had.
Pros: 100% vegan yumminess , Fresh interesting flavors , Fun market setting

Delicious specialty vegan sushi - Edit
This is vegan sushi done right! Tons of texture and flavor. I got the specialty roll and the miso eggplant and they were both excellent, especially the specialty roll because it had some crunch to it! The atmosphere is lively and it's fun to watch them make the sushi while you wait.

AMAZING & Flavorful Plant Sushi - Edit
Brand new plant based sushi restaurant in Canal Street Market. Truly the best plant sushi I’ve ever had. The eggplant nigiri was my favorite but the other two rolls (watermelon tartare & king oyster nigiri) were also delicious! Definitely check them out for a quick lunch!
