First visit.... - Edit

but I'll definitely be going back. I had a soy mocha and a slice of stollen; both delicious. At first I thought the information on Happy Cow was out of date, because the savouries were marked up as 'pork pie' and 'tuna sandwich'. It was only through some careful eavesdropping that I came to realise that I was in fact in a vegan tea shop. The service is nice and friendly and the tunes are good. Buy some scones to take home for tea!

Pros: Cakes, Service, Concept

Cons: None that spring to mind

Lovely place - Edit

I have been to the October Café several times. This is the type of place I had been missing as a vegan - cozy little tearoom with a few savories, a range of cakes and teatime treats and, of course, scones. I've had the rum chocolate truffle, which was dense and rummy as it should have been. The scones had a nice texture and were scrumptious. The only complaint is the cream, which was more like whipped cream, and the jam, which was not as nice quality as I would have expected. But, I'll keep going back and sampling more!

Pros: dapper owner, yummy treats, cream tea

Cons: cream and jam couldhave been better

Really good cakes and a nice selection of drinks. Pretty cosy and relaxed, good tunes, friendly service... I'll be coming back for more next time in the area.

Pros: selection of cakes, unpretentious vibe

Little but nice! - Edit

Friendly, quirky cafe. Great Victoria sponge and coffee. Definitely worth a pit-stop. My only little criticism is that some of the sweet treats are a little small for the prices they charge.

Pros: Friendly, Tasty sweet treats, Good coffee

Cons: Portions a bit small

Lovely home-made goodies - Edit

This new cafe/tea-shop deserves to do well. It has lots of quirky, interesting vintage-type touches but still feels homely and relaxed. Unfortunately my friend and I didn't get to try out the whole afternoon tea affair that is served there with scones, sandwiches and cakes but we did sample some very good cake and savoury slices. A slice of black forest gateau was delicious, a moist chocolatey sponge and just the right amount of creaminess and jamminess. My friend's favourite was the scones and cream and jam which were moreish enough that she ate two and took two home with her!
We will be back there for more home-made goodies very soon

Pros: Everything we tried was delicious, A place that serves vegan 'cream teas'!, Quirky, somehow modern yet vintage feel
