Cute & Progressive

I do a lot of travelling with Happy Cow but rarely write reviews. I felt compelled to do so about this cute Lisbon cafe/restaurant. I found this gem of a restaurant after trying some others in the area that were fairly generic and bland. I ended up eating here more than once during my week in Lisbon. The menu here keeps up with modern food trends (rare to find) while still managing to source all ingredients locally and have close to zero waste.
Sides like the pickled watermelon and the tempura sweet potato add a creative and fun element to the meal.
All the desserts are vegan, the bread pudding and spiced sangria are dangerously delicious.

Pros: Modern Flavours, Local friendly vibe, Zero waste style

Thank you?You're right, we aren't completely vegan and it would be cool if we were but you'll be glad to know there have been some changes in that direction. We try to encourage our vegan alternative, for non-vegan customers. Our desserts have always been vegan, but now more of our mains are vegan by default. Most recently we created an egg yolk and a half boiled egg that's completely vegan but looks and tastes almost like the real thing. Most customers don't even realise and vegan customers try to send it back because they don't believe us!! Hopefully you'll be able to return and try it some day and until then, wishing you all the best

Must try!

Amazing veggie options: must try mushrooms appetiser. We had as well burgers with sweet potato fries and they were so good and big portions ! Great atmosphere and very kind service ! We will be back soon

Perfect

You still don't know but you need to try this restaurant! I am a vegan since one year and so far I tried several restaurants I can assure you this is the best. I discovered it three days ago and I have been there already twice. I tried the vegan hamburger the falafel and the vegan snickers bar (as dessert) there is not a thing I would have change in all the 3 different dishes, the mixture of flavours is terrific!....not to mention also that they are impeccably presented! The guys that work there are also super friendly...you should definitely give it a try! You will not regret it.

Gemütlich, authentisch und lecker

Sehr gemütlich und klein. Sehr nette Besitzer, die sich Zeit nehmen. Kleine Karte, aber dafür sehr lecker. Alles vegetarisch und sonst vegane Optionen.

Please go here when you're in Lisbon!

We went for a girls dinner to O Gambuzino. Monica and Vasco, the owners, treated us so well! Such a cosy place, nice decoration and good music. We had the starters with beetroot creme and carrots and fresh bread. The tempura fried sweet potatoes were incredible. And we shared the Gado Gado, which I highly recommend to veggie-peanut lovers like me😄And the wines? All vegan and from different regions in Portugal. A delicious selection! I'll come back very often for sure!

Pros: Good value, Seasonal Menu, Super friendly

Cons: The chair was not the most comfiest :)

Absolutely amazing

Newly opened, beautiful decor, fun range of upcoming live music events. The owners (the server and the head chef) are absolute gems. Great beer and cider selection. The sweet potato fries are to die for.

Great Restaurant

Cool place - delicious, honest and healthy vegan food in a exciting neighbourhood, there is alot going on in this street for sure.... Besides great music selection I also enjoyed the decoration. Will be back!

Amazing value and hosts

Amazing value and delicious food. We tried various vegetarian dishes, great Portuguese wine, artisan beers and delicious desserts. Great ambience, funky music and super friendly hosts. Make sure you visit!

Fantastic food!

From the moment you walk in the door, you can tell you are in for a treat. The ambience is warm, friendly and funky, with assorted furniture and a fresh clean feel.
We went at lunch time and had an assortment of dishes to share, each one a delight to the palette and the eye. The sweet potato chips were delicious and plentiful, the beetroot dip light and delicate and the goats cheese converted me. The homemade lemonade was perfect on a warm day.
The service was friendly, fast and efficient. Possibly the best part of all was receiving the bill. Such good value for money!
Thoroughly recommend O Gambuzino to any lover of food. A gem for those prepared to venture away from the touristic centre of Lisbon.

O Gambuzino is really lovely... With very friendly staff and fresh food. We had great sandwiches (vegan / vegetarian) and a tasty Shakshuka.

Great find

We stumbled across this vegetarian restaurant and were very pleased with our luck. The food is tasty with plenty of vegan options, it comes in generous servings, is unique but not pretentious, a true feast. The owners are very sweet and the prices are really affordable. 2 ppl having a big lunch with coffee and desert for under 20 e.
Recommended!
