Came here for the fried chicken

Left here here with a burger and cauliflower I could have made better at home. Great atmosphere and service, disappointing food 😭

Gorgeous charcuterie platter

We tried the vegan fried chicken, charcuterie platter, and side of green beans. I have been hoping for a charcuterie platter experience, and this was spot-on. Fabulous date night restaurant. There is enough fried chicken in the platter not to get a separate order of chicken, but we didn't know that, so we had vegan chicken galore.

Pros: Great location, Upscale ambience, Delicious

Yummy bar snacks

It’s nice to have more than just chips/fries with a pint or two. I’ve tried the fried chicken (not to my taste as it’s made from seitan), olive tapenade with pita bread, and the broccoli - the latter two really tasty, as are the fries of course. #Veganuary

The vegan platter of my dreams

Chose to eat here for my birthday dinner, and it did not disappoint! My partner and I got the vegan platter and side of fries (swap for vegan aioli). We’re normally quite big eaters, he nearly ordered a burger instead of the fries, and I’m SO glad we didn’t haha.

The platter was huge and seriously so good, every element was quality👌🏼It had me second guessing if it were vegan, the cold cuts and creamy cheese they used were spot on! Also came with their signature fried chick’n which was great, and I was obsessed with the little mini peppers stuffed with cheese 🤤

They also make some amazing cocktails, and the bar is in a super cool old heritage building (the old government building - O.G.B.) with a barber, a hotel - all vintage themed. Highly recommend!

Pros: excellent vegan platter, excellent cocktails, excellent venue

Cons: pricy - but worth it

Go for chicken at OGB

Great night started with vegan food then great selection of drinks. Short walk from most hotels. Gets busy! Great music and live too.. Weekends.

Pros: Great chicken options, Staff know vegan options well, Enough vegan sources!

Cons: Small plates are not small, Chicken options are just burger or very large nug

Fabulous!

Great atmosphere, delicious vegan food food (we had the fried 'chicken' and the vegan platter with vegan lox, pastrami and more - all scrumptious), and great drinks and service. Fabulous lunch, highly recommended!

Amazing fried ‘chicken.’ Heaps of drinks. Great seating area. Beautiful venue.

Wonderful service, food and location

The staff were welcoming and friendly and there was a wide range of plant based food available. Food arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious. The make a good soy mocha too.

Surprisingly good!

We’d eaten so much today that we just wanted drinks and nibbles for dinner. My omni husband agreed to share the Vegetal Platter with me. I expected a couple of dips, biscuits and a few olives and salad, but this was a step above that. It included cashew cheese and a vegan sausagey thing, pickles, a sundried tomato tapenade (I thjnk). Very impressive for a place that isn’t just vego. Perfect with a beer, and the staff were lovely too.

Pros: Several interesting vegan options, Nice outdoor area , Good local beers

Great night out

Let's be honest, the vegan pickings in this town is slim. So why not try a hybrid place! The owner's wife is the mastermind behind vegan delicatessen Grater Goods and the provider of the beautiful vegan deli platter. The fried chicken is more like schnitzel. The hand-cut fries with the vegan aioli are made in heaven. Beautiful craft beer, even if you're a lagerhead be bold, venture out.

Pros: Great beer selection, Outdoor seating

Some great vegan options

We had the vegan fried chicken and the vegan platter which included vegan sausage (husband loved it, too much like meat for me!), pickles, radish, breads and dips. Great atmosphere and super fast and friendly service
