Also vegan options in the restaurant - Edit
The café is open until 5:00 PM, so unfortunately that is not an option for dinner. However, the seafood bar restaurant does have vegan options if you ask. We had a delicious pumpkin soup, a seaweed hummus, a bean burger without a bun, and grilled eggplant with sweet potato. Generous portions and friendly service. Things almost went wrong with the bread accompanying the soup and the seaweed hummus, but they realized it themselves before we took a bite. So that was properly rectified.

Lovely fresh options - Edit
*FYI- there is a restaurant next door called O’Dowds that is a sit-down restaurant without substantial vegan options. Make sure you are going into the Cafe, not the restaurant.* What a gem! An adorable cafe with kind people and nice options. My partner and I both got the Buddha Bowl and were really impressed by its size, freshness, and flavor. They also have really good lattes and, though we did not get them, vegan Irish Coffees. 😋 Try to find a seat upstairs by the window if you can, it’s a lovely view!

Amazing food - Edit
This beautifully situated harbour side cafe served the most delicious Buddha bowl for me and Falafel wrap for my husband. The Buddha bowl was full and included so many flavours. There was plenty of protein with tofus, hummus, falafels and chickpeas as well as roasted veg, salad and tasty couscous. All mouthwatering!
Read moreOn the menu was also vegan soup and vegan dessert.
I'd highly recommend O'Dowds for vegan food - it felt like they really cared about the vegan food they were serving. (I would have given 5***** if Happy Cow allowed.)
Pros: Vegan options, Delicious flavours, Location
Cons: Oat coffee a bit too ftothy

Stunning cafe, great food - Edit
Vegan options clearly marked on the menu, and the chalk board advertises that they serve vegan food. Vegan pizza, Buddha bowls, seaweed hommus, and a few other things.

Lovely cafe - Edit
Just got an Oat-Latte for take away, but the cafe looked lovely, food looked great and there were many vegan options on the menu. Sadly there was no vegan cake left.

Should be 5 stars - Edit
After driving through what seemed like a deserted coastline for miles, we found this place on here. Tasty, hearty soup and a very filling sandwich, a chocolate cake, and great coffee. We were very happy to find somewhere that catered for vegans in so isolated a place. Very friendly staff, and we had great craic with the other customers too

Good vegan menu - Edit
This is for O'Dowds cafe in Roundstone, rather than O'Dowds restaurant and bar next door - which didn't seem to have any vegan options.
Read moreThe cafe had a vegan menu, which were given without asking for it. Several light mains (open tofurkey sandwiches, rice with sea vegetables and mushrooms, pizza, and others), a chocolate torte, vegan Irish coffee, and a couple of vegan wines.
Our meals were very nice, and the staff friendly and helpful. The cafe looks out over the nearby bay, from ground or first floor, and also provides a laptop for internet access.
We were very pleased (and surprised!) to find it - a real treat on a damp Connemara day.
Pros: Separate vegan menu, Several choices, Good position and view
Cons: Omnivorous - also serves meat
