When vegan is just a marketing label and the owner is rude - Edit
I visited this Brazilian bistro that prominently advertised vegan food. As a vegan food enthusiast always looking for a good vegan burger, I decided to give it a try.
Read moreI ordered their vegan burger. My vegetarian son ordered the same and asked if a slice of cheese could be added. The answer was no, which instantly made me suspect that the burgers were not freshly prepared. After all, how hard can it be to add a slice of cheese to a burger, vegan or otherwise?
Unfortunately, the vegan burger was disappointing. It was mostly bread, with the small amount of filling tasting bland, dry, and completely lacking in flavour.
When the chef asked if we had enjoyed our meal, I politely explained that it hadn’t been to our liking. Instead of a simple apology, the response was: “Yes, vegan is vegan!”
My advice is simple: if you can’t cook a proper vegan burger, don’t put it on the menu. This kind of misleading marketing is known as vegan washing: using the word “vegan” as a sales tool without delivering on quality. And if you’re not prepared to accept honest feedback, it’s best not to ask for it.

p.s. 13-08: Pissed off owner only managed to dig himself in even deeper with his response. His ego seems to be as oversized as the quality of his food is low. Moreover, no one ever came by to ask whether everything was to my satisfaction. The waitress did not even bring the drink I had ordered. In short, yet another reason to avoid this restaurant altogether. Bad burger, bad service, owner with issues.

Good alternative to pizza & pasta! - Edit
Found this after checking HC & I was happy with my choice, had the Ubatuba burger. Good vegan menu, mainly burgers but with a good brunch menu. We shared the fries as suggested by a previous post.

Read moreIch hatte zuerst Furquim (Quinoa-Hamburger, Avocado, Salat, Farofa, Pommes) und als Nachspeise Tapioca Umbu. Beides war super lecker!
Kann das Lokal wirklich jedem von Herzen empfehlen!

Best Vegan Burger - Edit
We decided to eat here after looking for places on Happy Cow. I was not disappointed 😁 . There is a separate vegan menu. I had the vegan burger with cheese and mushrooms - Ubatuba. It was delicious. The best vegan burger that I have eaten in a while. The homemade fries were tasty (one portion is sufficient for two people). It is a small place, down a side road but the ambiance is lovely, with music and greenery around the eating area. You can also eat inside if you wish. The cocktails were well made. I really liked this eatery and would highly recommend for vegans.

Tasty good Brazilian food - Edit
We had looked at this place before coming to Maiori and made a plan to visit. We were not disappointed. Alongside the standard menu they have a vegan menu. I opted for the Goiânia, a cereal bun with quinoa burger, vinaigrette, crispy onions, valerian & mayonnaise. It was so fresh and tasty. Quickly jumping to the top of the list of my fav vegan burgers. The French fries were really good too. More like potato chips but very tasty with the vegan mayonnaise. I need to go back 👌

The best in Maiori for vegans!! - Edit
Came here for dinner as it was one of the few places I could find that catered for vegans! Staff were super friendly and the food was amazing so we came back again for lunch the next day! Had a variety of vegan options and even had vegan mayo. Would give 5 stars if I could!
