CLOSED: Nyama

Sadly Nyama is closing on 11th of March. They brought new dimension to vegan cuisine! We will miss it.

They change the menu every day. It is a little pricier, but I consider it normal as they offer you a higher standard. In Ljubljana it is the only "proper" vegan restaurant, for now ;) They have even vegan potica (a well known Slovenian dish)!

They have daily lunch menu as well as an a la carte with great options to have. Desserts, food and house wine are Recommended! And not expensive.

Nyama is awesome. It's located in the city center and is easy to reach. They constantly change the menus, so there's always something new.
I also really loved the halloween themed menu. Would love to see more of such themed ones.
The interiour of Nyama is great, especially for such a small place. The workers are also very friendly and nice.
The only thing is, Nyama can be quite expensive. If you, for example, buy a drink, lunch and a dessert, you're probably going to spend 10-15e per person, which, in my opinion, is really not the cheapest, sadly.
But all in all, it's great food, great drinks and desserts and a lovely treat for myself every once in a while.

My fiancee and I visited Nyama for early dinner, and loved it. The atmosphere is beautiful, and different to most of vegan restaurant. I had delicious spinach, walnuts, and carrot risotto, and tapioca vanilla pudding with strawberry layer. My fiancee had vegan carbonara pasta with house made fresh tagliatelle, and delicious chocolate cherry and cream cake. They have grea options, breakfast, smoothies, fun drinks, cold and some raw appetizers, few types of risottos, pasta (gluten free options), and main meals, next to great choice of desserts. Can't wait to go back.

Rawmaterials might have been OK, but ... There was now taste at all, and stuff costed two times more than in the other places in the city

I enjoyed this place so much that I visited for breakfast and then a late lunch in one day. I tried the ham and cheese sandwich (you get two with your order which made me pretty happy!) and the carbonara and my friends tried some smoothies, a curry and the mushroom stroganoff which they also said were excellent. I'd love to go back one day.

I've been there two times so far, once I had the daily lunch and second time the daily soup and a dish from a la carte, the Grilled tofu with spinach and potato purée... Both times the food was excellent, rich in flavors and really nicely presented, it is obvious that the ingredients are high quality and neatly prepared by chef and cooks. The menu is versatile and interesting, offering a wide variety of dishes. The staff is especially nice, helping and positive. I heartily recommend this place!

We took lunch menu, which included a starter soup, 1 main course out of 2 options and a dessert. Food was excellent, taste combinations were great. For example the dessert blueberry raw cake with strawberry foam and mint, njam! We also tasted one smoothie, it was good both in taste and size.
The restaurant was beautiful and neat from inside + the terrace was really nice now on the summer time.
The place also had good location from the city center. It was close to the Ljubljana castle.
I strongly recommend to visit this place!

This was my first all vegan restaurant ever! The newly opened restaurant is decorated nicely and fresh.
The menu is simply amaaazing! Lots of different meals, all great, fresh and goodlooking!
Especially de desserts made me drool! Chocolate mousse and a brownie with coconut cream and you're in Vegan heaven.
Also they newly introduced a vegan ice coffee, tastes good, could be improved though.

Must be in Ljubljana!!

After reading the poor review below, we were very hesitant but had no more options. The service was amazing, he was friendly and very quick. I had the carbonara, they brought salt, pepper and oil to the table and, therefore, I had no complaints about the food. The texture was great and the dessert was also lovely and well presented. The house White is so nice! We all had a thoroughly great time and we all would love to re visit!

Unfortunately I had bad experience. This place is way too expensive for such a tasteless food, and I just don't get why someone would give five stars to this restaurant. I would not go there again. I was expecting something great, but the service was bad and food was terrible. I ate less than half of my dinner. If you go there, do not order "Soy steaks in mushroom sauce with grilled polenta".

My husband and I are vegan. We are from the USA and, when we travel, we use Happy Cow to find restaurants. Nyama had good reviews, so we decided to try it. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. The server was helpful and knowledgeable. I spoke with the owners' daughter, who was curious about our vegan travels. Our dinner was wonderful and we considered returning for dinner the next night but could not because we had to eat dinner with our traveling group. I regret to say that we do not remember what we ate because it was a week ago. I do want anyone reading this review to know that we highly recommend Nyama.

I am mostly vegetarian but not entirely, however I try and eat as healthy as possible and as such, I love visiting vegetarian and vegan restaurants. I've been to Nyama twice now and both times I was extremely impressed by the quality of food and the value for money. I was there with a group of friends, some vegan some not and we all equally enjoyed it. I would definitely say stop by Nyama when you're in Ljubljana, even if it is just for their smoothies or the huge variety of plant-based milks in coffee! (But seriously, try the food too ;) )

I went to Nyama for the first time today. I ordered à la carte: tortillas for starter, sundried tomato pasta for the main course and tapioka pudding for dessert. Everything was very tasty and well presented, I was very impressed. You can definitely see (and taste!) that the ingredients they use are of high quality. I will definitely come here again and would recommend 10/10.
