Yummy Vegan Soul Food franchise - Edit
This is a delayed review, a few weeks ago, took the auto train from Lorton, VA to Florida and had a couple hours to fill before departure so we looked up Vegan places and found a few in the area, we chose 2 to visit and NuVegan was the 2nd stop.
Read moreI've come across other NuVegan locations in my travels along the east coast, this was the first time giving it a try and it was a lot of fun! The Mac n cheese was soo creamy and yummy, my partner liked the collard greens a lot (I'm still just not a fan in general myself) and the fried chick'n unfortunately wasn't very warm, even a bit cold inside but the overall taste and texture was very good, just needed another few minutes in the oven.
The food hall was lively and the young guy serving at NuVegan was super nice. We would definitely try NuVegan again.

There are a lot of varying options to choose from, the staff was friendly, and the food was good. They have the best drumsticks ever and the mac was really flavorful tho the noodles could have been a bit firmer. I'm interested in trying more from their menu when it's available.

The experience was really friendly and nice interaction. I was well fed and felt full but still wanting more. Highly recommend, try the Mac n Cheese, you won’t regret it!

Previous reviews here and yelp complain about rude workers. Our server was very friendly and helped me choose popular dishes. He said ma’am a ton and was friendly. Don’t let that stop you from visiting!
Read moreFood was good. I’m not southern so I don’t know what collards and okra “should” taste like. Collards we’re delish-Smokey and a gentle spice. I wasn’t a fan of the okra as they were a little slimy but I’ll try another side next time. The chicken and jerk sauce were great! The chicken does have sticks inside so don’t be afraid of bones. They’re just sticks 😅
We enjoyed the visit and we’re surprised to see cakes to go and another vegan sweets shop in the food court. It looks like a cool trendy place. I liked the atmosphere and totally plan to come back when I’m in the area.
It was a little pricey but a lot in one meal. I personally think it’s a good sharing size based on big portions.

I was so excited but very disappointed. The macaroni and cheese was delicious, the sweet potatoes were very stringy and the collard greens tasted like liquid smoke and vinegar. The service was the worst I've had in years. The servers were as bitter as the greens. To top it off it was cold.

This place is amazing! I used to frequent their DC location when I was in the city! When I moved to Northern VA my family and I would go monthly to load up on our faves! When they opened up in Woodbridge I was one of the first in line!!

Please give this place a try! You won’t be disappointed!!

FYI (Woodbridge location) Located inside of Epic food lounge. The food is great the servers are local youth and are very accommodating. There is brunch on Sundays (I suggest you get there early).

Got the chik'n drummies and tuna macaroni salad. The drummies were good, even though there were only 3. I'm not sure if I just miss macaroni salad or if their macaroni salad was just that good, but it was really memorable and definitely something I'll order again (and again and again).

Awesome staff helped us newbies on our first visit. So much good looking good. Enjoyed everything. Food was a bit too salty after following SOS for a while. Great effort but could have been better. The staff shined though.

NuVegan serves up generous portions of soul food. They make an awesome Mac n cheese and the best chick’n drummies I’ve had. Most everything I’ve tried has been tasty. The only thing I didn’t enjoy were the cinnamon buns, which were hard.
