My first time trying Vegan Soul Food! - Edit
First off, I couldn’t believe everything is vegan!! This was my first time trying vegan soul food so My mind was blown away! Everything is very tasty and delicious, the potions are huge (my biggest pro), & the staff members were very helpful.

Went with a friend during a not so busy timeframe, there was good music and chill vibes all around. Ithey didn't have one item I was interested in, but there were still plenty of entrées, sandwiches and sides to choose from.
Read moreI ordered the chick'n sandwich w/ okra and collards sides, and the other order was the crab cakes w/ okra and cabbage. These were some of best vegan foods we have had in DC, if not the best. The only thing I can critique is the slight overuse of salt for my tastes.
They also offered and gifted us some breakfast items, as they stop serving those at a certain time, and i truly appreciate the gift! These were also amazingly crafted and tasted great.

I have never written a review and have never intended to, but this place truly deserves one. Amazing food, excellent quality service (such kind people work here!) and good price points. Loved everything I got, which was the drumsticks, collard greens, mac and cheese (wowza!), the lasagna and the blueberry cheese cake (best I’ve had)! Cannot recommend enough. The mac and cheese and lasagna in particular were fantastic.

I went here for the second time today was last there maybe 2 years ago? Both times have been delicious. The person I was with claims the collard greens are the best they’ve ever had. Their Mac and cheese in my opinion is the best I’ve tasted. Strongly recommend, must for anyone visiting.

I am so glad I listened to all of the recommendations because it was fantastic! I got the Vegan fish, macaroni and cheese and collard greens. I will definitely come back to visit.

Nothing in this world compares to NuVegan. Woodlands Vegan Bistro. Call it what you must. The passion for veganism infused in their food is so evident you’ll never seek another animal product. This has to be one of the best vegan places I've ever eaten at (taste- and option-wise). There was so much to pick from, portion sizes were large, and everyone is super friendly. I wouldn't call it a health food type of restaurant - it's vegan comfort food. Quesadillas and fried chicken were aaaamazing.

Read moreThe only downside for me is the lack of parking. When there isn’t street parking nearby I’ve had to park a bit away and walk over, but this is just a small inconvenience for the tasty meals I get 😋
