Cheap Lunch Spot - Edit

As far as directions, make sure you go to the SOHO Guanghua bldg and not SOHO 3 bldg. I recommend not going between 12H-1320H because all the office people go at that time and it’ll be crowded since the spot is cafe size. For nonmembers it’s 35rmb all you eat lunch buffet. You have the option of becoming a member by refilling a membership card. The lunch buffet offers a variety of dishes about 5 hot and 5 cold options. Also includes noodles and congee and streamed buns and such. This is traditional Chinese cuisine prepared vegetarian/vegan. Again, for the price it’s very good for a quick lunch.

Pros: fast and cheap

still open and brilliant - Edit

Let me start by saying the food was really tasty. No English speakers but pictorial menu. A place you can safely try yummy Chinese delicacies knowing it's all vegetarian. Was open as at 11 May 2017

A-Okay - Edit

Lunch is now RMB30, still a good value. (My pre-launch cup of coffee at a local cafe was RMB29.) A couple of cooked dishes, as well as some cooked, but served cold. Two soups, some fruit. Turning people away at 11:50AM, but less wait an hour later. I shared a small table for two with three other people. Buffet set up, but I didn't see anyone eat beyond one plate+one small bowl.

Pros: Mix of plant foods and processed fake meats, for p

Cons: Not the highest quality, most imaginative food, bu

Bangin - Edit

This was my favourite place in Beijing. Small but delicious buffet at a great price. Make sure you get in early as it gets quite busy - we went on a Tuesday at 12 and by 12.30 they were turning people away because the place was full!

Pros: Tasty food, Nice atmosphere, Very cheap

Fabulous food and definitely still open in 2015 - Edit

This restaurant is definitely still open, charming and utterly delicious. So tasty and such good value, 10 times better than King's Joy at a tenth of the price. The big mixed spicy pot with different kinds of Tofu and vegetables is just fab. It seems unlikely you will find it in the shopping centre, as you go in, but go up the escalators and check the different floors and you will find it, on the opposite side to the streets entrance. Do go, it is so good and charming

Pros: Brilliant food, can be spicy, Charming people, Great simple ambience

Cons: You don't expect to find it upstairs

Cheap buffet with nice staff - Edit

I just went here today for lunch. I found it by accident when I was walking around SOHO. They had a huge sign that said "Hawa Whispering Vegetarian." This restaurant was not on the 3rd floor- it was on the basement level. From the main road, you take a flight of stairs down, or you can find if from inside the building by going downstairs.

It is very very hidden- the lights were not on, the windows were covered with curtains, and I did not see a single person inside, but I went in to give it a try. They were open, and had food all ready. They had a simple buffet all laid out, and it only cost 20 RMB for all you can eat. It was a big restaurant with a few people inside, very quiet. It did not seem like they were making an effort to attract people. The staff was very friendly, and spoke English. The food was very good, and tasted home-cooked.

I don't understand how they get any business with the exterior looking very closed up, but I recommend you give it a try! This is the CHEAPEST vegan food I have found.

This is their address according to their business card:
B-122 West tower SOHO Shangdu, No.8, East Bridge Road, Chaoyang District, Beijing.

Pros: CHEAP!, yummy, kind staff

Cons: looks uninviting from the outside
