Nice atmosphere with views over the Nile

Ordered two vegetable tagines here which were served with rice, salad and bread. It was filling and satisfying, mainly potato based. The main selling point is the view across the Nile to the mainland. Staff were friendly and they sell beer, which is not always easy to come by.

My favorite in Aswan

There are two restaurants near the north port of Elephantine Island: King Jamaica and Nubian Dreams. You can eat vegetable tagine at both of them. The tagine at King Jamaica is mainly soup, and it is delicious when you eat it with rice in the tagine. The tagine at Nubian Dreams has large pieces of vegetables, which are nicely browned and have a nice aroma, so it is filling. Both restaurants offer nice view of the Nile, and both are my favorite in Aswan. You can drink fresh juice at both restaurants. Nubian Dreams has beer, but King Jamaica does not have any alcohol.

Friendly

Very friendly service and nice atmosphere by the river. Only one vegan option on the menu but we asked for aubergine and zucchini bechamel without the bechamel and both were delicious.

Nice vegetarian food

The food is good, but nothing special for me. What makes the place nice is the view and the environment, very nice staff too!

Worth The Wait!

Be prepared to wait a little bit for your meal (they say expect at least 30 minutes on their menu), but you can also expect to have a delicious meal with such friendly service! We requested baba ganoush, tahini, and the Aubergine Tahine. Be sure to request vegan or they will bring it with cheese on top.

The atmosphere is nice, kind of a bohemian feel. And the view of Aswan across the Nile is nice as well. All in all a great experience :)

Good option in Aswan

The other review nearly turned me off going there but I’m glad I did! Overall I didn’t find Aswan easy to find vegetarian options. I decided to try this place and I really liked it. I had the vegetable tagine (without cheese) which was very nice. The service was great and friendly. They don’t have an extensive menu for vegetarian/vegan but it suited me just fine.

Not so great - Nubian nightmare :P

So this place is really sub par, really overpriced (90LE) for a tagine - but we were already there so we stayed. We ordered an aubergine tagine and when it arrived it was a oily, creamy mess. We tried to eat it anyway and quickly realized there was bits of meat (????) in it. Which was not written anywhere or implied. Not even sure what kind of meat , we didn’t want to know. We just paid and left. They gave us a free veggie tagine dish as well which was kind, but it wasn’t very tasty. So I just generally think it’s not that great or worth a visit lol. You’re better off finding some falafel

Pros: Nice vibe, Good views

Cons: Meat found in dish , Generally gross , Overpriced
