Heerlijke middag in Nijmegen - Edit
Samen met mijn vriendin (flexitarier) genoten van heerlijke proeverij. 4 soorten heerlijke smaakvolle vegan
broodjes. Echt een aanrader als je niet makkelijk een keuze kunt maken vanuit de gerechten.

Good soup and sandwiches - Edit
Our family had a late lunch, with a variety of sandwiches including a cashew spread, sun-dried tomato spread, and cucumber salad. Tomato soup was very good. Smoothie was good, but made with frozen ingredients and no green option (but probably could have asked for it). We didn't have time to try dessert, blueberry cheesecake or lemon cake, but hopefully another time!
Pros: All vegan, Kid-friendly
Cons: Smoothie did not have fresh ingredients, no greens

Fantastic sandwiches - Edit
We went there for the first time.
Very nice location with sunny terrace.
We both had the "Proeverij" with 2 slices of bread with delicious homemade humus and soup.
For dessert we had the raspberry cake.
Freindly owner/staff.
Pros: Nice location
Cons: A bit to expensive

Wonderful... - Edit
a pretty location, simple decor, friendly owner/baker, delicious vegan (gluten-free)food!
I have been here a number of times and feel this review reflects a broad spectrum of visits.
The restaurant itself is bright, quaint and spotless.
The pies(cakes) have been wonderful, with a nice range of flavors (choco/orange, rosewater w/edible flowers, raspberry, red velvet, etc.)
Sticky pecan rolls were out of this world fantastic!!
Cookies, scones, brownies, etc. have all been very good.
Handmade candies are decadent with some different ingredient combinations,(homemade "Nutella").
The coffee is deliciously strong and there is a wonderful tea selection.
Sandwiches, salads, soups and meals are above average.
Fresh ingredients prepared simply. This is a cafe and not a sit down dinner restaurant. Do not expect to get an overflowing dish of food but a delicious, healthy, satisfying lunch.
Healthy, hearty breakfast bowls are warm and tasty.
Smoothies and drinks are healthy and creative in name and flavor.
Some of the drawbacks that I have noticed, and by no means are they a deal breaker when deciding to come here are...
Service, a young, inexperienced staff has led to a couple of small communication errors. (hot coffee served way before desserts, asking for all the food to be brought out together and receiving dishes in a stream instead, etc.)
For a bakery/cafe the bread and croissants are average.
(As a vegan chef/baker myself I know that these are difficult to keep consistent.)
This is a new establishment and like all new things needs time to grow into itself.
I have noticed other reviews both about here and other vegan restaurants that price is an issue. Please note that ingredient prices at these establishments are much higher than conventional restaurants. Nuts, Gluten-Free flours, Alternative milks, raw sugars, etc. are very expensive and therefore affect the cost of the finished product.
My overall rating for Novia Verde is 8.5 out 10!
I wonderful little restaurant with a fabulous owner and some delicious, healthy food.
Worth the trip!!
Pros: Vegan, Everything is prepared on site, Spotless
Cons: inexperienced waitstaff

Tasty sandwiches - Edit
Nice place with a lot of seats and tasty sandwiches. Not very special but good and everything looks clean and modern. The chocolate cake was a little bit too dry for me and the chocolate a little bit too dark/not sweet enough but the friend I had lunch with loved it. I certainly will come back.
Pros: Clean and modern and enough choice

Friendly Vegan Place - Edit
Novia Verde is located on a nice street in the city centre and quite close to a scenic city park. I didn't see much of the interior as the weather was great so I enjoyed the outdoor seating.
Service was friendly but the falafel sandwich I ordered was a little bland. Not bad, and it was certainly filling, but a little light on salad and any sort of dressing.
However the cappucino and banana bread I ordered for dessert more than made up for it. Both were delicious!
Pros: Friendly staff, Completely vegan, Nice location
Cons: Small menu, Forgettable sandwich

Novia Verde: A (Non)Vegan's Best Friend - Edit
There's this little place in the oldest street of Nijmegen that has excellent staff, an amazing atmosphere and truly wonderful (fresh baked) food.
When you pass Novia Verde's doorstep you will be greeted with the biggest smile and a bright "hello" from the owner of the little vegan lunchroom. She is the beating heart of Novia Verde and the passion she has for good (vegan) food and making people smile are the things that will make you come back, over and over again. The English translation for Novia is "friend", and you will be treated as such when you pay this place a visit.
All the great menu options are served containing fresh ingredients. Novia Verde also seconds as a mini-bakery so all the cakes and snacks are prepared on the day they are served. The flavors are vibrant and even non-vegans or non-vegetarians will enjoy all the different drinks, snacks en sandwiches Novia Verde provides.
Needless to say I'm very happy to have a place like Novia Verde in a awesome city like Nijmegen. I think they will become the Greenest of Friends in no-time.
Pros: Ginger Ale, Great Staff, Great Atmosphere
Cons: Closed on Tuesdays
