One of the best meals I’ve ever eaten - Edit
I am almost speechless at how delicious this place is. Every single item we got was so carefully crafted and unique - I had never had vegan burrata, carbonara, or cacio e pepe in my 11 years of being vegan. The vegan creme brûlée also was from a dream! The space is small and intimate and everything is crafted with love.

Incredible Italian - Edit
Wow! The food here is honestly incredible and worth the hype. Some of the best Italian food we have ever had!
Read moreWe had the
-Garlic focaccia (banging)
-Carbonara (didn’t see all the recommendations on Happy Cow, but after having it, we don’t blame people recommending, it’s delicious)
- Ortolana pizza - (also banging)
Overall, the flavours were incredibly well-balanced. They’ve won awards for their pasta, and it’s obvious why.
Staff were great and there was a nice vibe. I’d consider booking, it was quite busy when we were there!
Pros: Food , Decor, Ambience

The place is not big, but because of this it has a really friendly atmosphere. I think the carbonara I ate here was the best vegan carbonara I’ve ever eaten.

Cosy and delicious - Edit
This is definitely on the pricier side but worth it if you want a treat. We had the carbonara and a calzone followed by tiramisu which was amazing. Would definitely come back if I'm in Edinburgh again.

Best pizza ever - Edit
Wonderful food! I had the Serena pizza bianca and it was the best I've ever had. I lived in Italy for 3 years so I've had a lot in my time! Had a lovely glass of Chianti with it. Mum had the gnocchi with homemade pesto which she really enjoyed too.

Terrible service, good food - Edit
The service at Novapizza was genuinely the worst of any restaurant I’ve ever been in. There were 2 staff for 6 tables, three of which had only 2 people, so I thought it wouldn’t be too bad.
Read moreWe booked for 19:30 and arrived 5 minutes early. We were told no table was ready (fair enough it’s a small restaurant). We then waited until 20:05 to be seated. This wait time would have been less bad if we’d been offered a complimentary soft drink or even spoken to, but this didn’t happen.
Once we were sat down we asked for tap water, but none was provided until I asked again (15 minutes later). Then our order was taken.
From this point things improved. The focaccia was great, along with the carbonara, though the tagliatelle was bland (and certainly not worth £16). Despite this, the service was again poor; with a waiting time of about 40 minutes for the mains.
Overall, I’m gutted. I was very excited to try this restaurant and had high hopes. Yes, some of the food was excellent, but good service is basic, and it was lacking here.

Delicious! Omg the desserts. - Edit
I had a wonderful pasta and focaccia meal. Delicious, fresh, and felt really like eating in Rome. Really friendly staff. I was feeling full but couldn't resist a slice of made in-house cheesecake. Omg, one of the best vegan cheesecakes I've ever had. Seriously don't miss out!

A real treat - Edit
The menu here was to die for. They've really put so much thought into creating a full vegan Italian menu, and it shows. Everything on the menu looked good, and we could easily have gone back another night if we'd had more time in Edinburgh.

Outstanding vegan pizza - Edit
Best and most authentic vegan pizza I've had. The vegan cheese is great, as are the fake meats. If you've been missing the quality of proper Italian pizza, look no further. Maybe slightly on the expensive side if there was a downside, although not massively in the context of Edinburgh

Best vegan Italian - Edit
We have been a few times over the years and it just gets better and better. Great use of vegan cheeses to create different flavours. Fully recommend any of the pizzas the base is super and the toppings tasty and succulent. The blue cheese starters are so fresh the best I have ever had. This place will not disappoint. It’s small so book in advance. Final word Goya to the super friendly staff thank you so much

Outstanding vegan pasta! - Edit
I tend to eat a fair amount of pasta at home, so if I'm going to pay money for it out, I want it to be good. And I was not disappointed by my visit. I loved the cosy environment and vibe, friendly service and a menu with a good range of totally vegan pasta and pizza dishes.
Read moreAlongside the main menu there were specials, which included pistachio cheesecake, so from the outset, I knew I needed to save some room for that! We had the garlic cheese break and tomato soup for starters - both delicious. For mains we both went for pasta - garlic and chilli, and the carbonara. Both were very very good. I suspect the pizzas are fab too but that's for another visit.
Pros: Great vibe, Fab menu, High quality

Enjoyed the bolognese pizza and the carbonara. But I preferred the other vegan Italian in Edinburgh, was more rustic. Service was good and still delicious and I would go back.
