Best Cookies Ever! - Edit
Oh how I do love me some Nourish! The Richmond isn’t exactly bursting with dedicated vegan options so it’s nice to have the original Nourish Cafe location making 6th Ave its home.
Read moreEverything I’ve had from Nourish Cafe is quite excellent so it’s hard to pick a favorite. But I’m particularly partial to their Bibimbap bowl and Chocolate Chip Cookie. For the former, the bowl is packed full of delicious veggies, including their frequent yams ingredient and lots of tofu. For the latter, this cookie is literally the best cookie you’ll ever have. Everyone I know who has tasted this cookie says the exact same thing. It’s very much a 2-person (or 2-sitting) experience, though no one would begrudge you if it’s gone in a few bites. Moist, coconuty, and chocolate goodness saturate each bite. It’s brilliant.
Other items I’m a big fan of are their muffins and matcha lattes. Sadly, I can’t seem to get over there during their business hours as often as I would like since they tend to close more in the afternoon. But whenever I can, I am so grateful for all the vegan goodness.

Best mushroom soup ever - Edit
The mushroom soup they had when I went blew my mind! Frittata sandwich wasn't bad either. I was with others who got the Nourish burger and said it was good, but shouldn't be called a burger. Place is small, staff is friendly.

Fresh, tasty food - Edit
I have eaten at Nourish twice, both times after spending the morning walking the coast/Land's end. It's convenient to get to from that area, and I don't know of many other places with vegan options around there. I had the Bap bowl with tofu both times. It's lots of food, loaded with fresh veggies, flavorful tofu, and a tasty sauce. The breakfast toasts and bowls look quite good as well. Nourish is a bit pricey, although not too out of line with San Francisco pricing ($16 for a bowl at lunch). In addition to the food on the menu, there are some treats at the counter, like energy balls, cookies, and puddings.
Read moreThe space is a bit small, but there is seating inside and out. I have been both times for a late lunch and it was not an issue to find space, although I don't know what it's like at peak meal times.
Pros: Fresh, tasty food, All vegan, Healthy
Cons: Bit pricey

Tasty Food, Noisy Place - Edit
This is a tiny little cafe with limited seating...and it's super noisy when the blenders are going - difficult to have a conversation. I was also a bit disappointed by the level of friendliness of the staff. I waited until the woman at the till had completed a conversation with a seated staff member and stepped up to place my order, but the woman at the till hardly acknowledged me and carried on speaking with the seated staff member who appeared to be on a break. Not very welcoming!
Read moreThey serve only drop coffee, so if you're looking for a latte, you're out of luck. I had the "Tuna" sandwich which was a generous portion. It came topped with a handful of full-size bean sprouts, which made the open-faced sandwich difficult to eat, but it was still tasty. It also came with a side of refrigerator pickles, which were super-tasty with just the right amount of "sour."
Pros: Tasty and flavorful, Good selection, Modern decor
Cons: Noisy, Staff aren't too friendly, Sun beating through the window makes it hot

Great healthy option - Edit
We had two sandwiches and two smoothies. They were very substantial portions. We did not leave hungry! I had the banh mi sandwich and chocolate banana smoothie. My brother had the espresso smoothie and veggie wrap. I would not say that the banh mi tasted like a traditional tofu banh mi, but it was still good. The food was good and healthy and pretty fast. My only complaint is that it was quite expensive. Our meal was $50 for lunch, before tip.

Awesome healthy food - Edit
Over my trip in San Francisco i was looking for something to get me out of the average american cuisine, my body was asking healthy stuff and here everything was healthy! I used this place as starting point of my walking trips in SF the first time i had some amazing coffee with a muffin and the second a bowl with a iced tea 10/10

Great food but not cheap - Edit
I had the avocado toast and another one with ham. Both tasted great, just like the vegan rap with tofu. Probably one of the best breakfasts I had in a long time. I think it’s a bit over priced, but I guess I can life with that. I’ll come back for the great food... and I’ll rather pay a buck more and be happy & healthy. (Guess we all said that before) :)

Food is delicious but a bit overpriced - Edit
Came here for brunch and had the roast sampler and a smoothie. Spent over $20 and was still starving afterward... Paid for another toast... still hungry.... not my favorite vegan option in San Fran.

worth a detour - Edit
I am vegan and my family is not. I used my Happy Cow app to find this place and had to get off the city bus and walk to get to it. So glad we did!!! Tiny, tucked into a little block, but friendly, bright and quick. I was beyond hungry and immediately ate the $6 cashew pudding, which completely restored me. A simple but delicious menu, with baked goods, bottled kombucha and savory treats as well.

This place is heaven! - Edit
Incredible place, Scandinavian charme, and although it's small, there were plenty of tables to sit at. The "Tuna" salad and the Nourished juice were to good to be true! If I lived here, this place would make me a regular for sure!

love it! (vegan Ding Dong updated 6/2017) - Edit
it's so rare to find a place that doesn't rely on excess salt, sugar and oil to make salads and otherwise healthy whole foods delicious! i had the baked falafel salad and it was really yummy... will definitely be back often. also the "ding dong" was an amazing, much appreciated treat.
Read moreUPDATE- ding dong WAS amazing, when they used to coat the entire cake in thick chocolate. Now they dip the top only in chocolate and that's just sad! I still enjoy their soups and salads, the new grilled cheese is delicious (only available after 3pm) and anything on the Josie Baker bread is yummy too. But sadly I can no longer recommend the Ding Dong. I've also dropped a star bc the portion sizes and attention to detail are inconsistent.
Pros: whole foods , oil-free options, cute cafe with friendly staff
Cons: closes too early on weekends!, inconsistent portion sizes

Amazing Spot! Health Conscious! - Edit
This place was perfect for someone like me who likes big portions, Whole Foods, oil and garlic free. This place was on point! Their salad portions are generous, and delicious. They even bake their falafels instead of frying them, as well as having oil free dressings and gluten free options. I had the nourish salad with tofu, the chia pudding and the nourish juice. It was all fabulous. My favorite part is that all their "plastic" cups, lids, cutlery and straws are biodegradable and made from plants! People who care about animals AND the environment have a special place in my heart. ❤️

We had the Nourish and Bibimbap salads, which were reasonable, if a little bland and unimaginative. The basic ingredients were fresh and decent, but there were no interesting flavors or textures to spice it up. The dressing was a little bland.

We were so looking forward to trying the tuna, but they were out of it. Fortunately, we did find some delicious lunches anyway. I guess we’ll have to come back again to take another crack at the tuna.

fresh vegan food - Edit
Great little place. Light, airy atmoshpere where you can see all the food being made right behind the counter which is covered in vegan desserts, many of which are organic and oil free. We got iced chai lattes which were delicious and two grain and veggie bowls which were very healthy and tasty. We got an amazing oil free vegan chocolate donut for dessert. The acai bowls and smoothies looked good as well.

Points for being totally vegan - Edit
This is a cute little cafe but I was unimpressed with what my friend and I ordered. I ordered the soup of the day (creamy asparagus) which I found very bland. We also ordered some sweets to snack on (puddings and nut balls) which also lacked flavor. The only thing I enjoyed which my friend didn't like was the smoothie. As a strict vegan who hugely supports 100% plant based restaurants I'm disappointed that I have to say my experience was below average. I would find it hard to return to this cafe when I know of so many other amazing vegan restaurants around.
