vibrant and healthy - Edit

Just like all the reviews have said, NYSM is delicious, healthy, and consistent with it's all-vegan menu and bakery. It's the perfect stop for takeaway or a casual sit-in meal. The menu is not expansive, and may not be suitable for mixed omnivore dining, but the quality is unbeatable for vegans or whole foods-minded diners. The price definitely adds up if a few things are ordered, but in an area where vegan, raw, and healthy food is a specialty, the cost is worth the product. The staff are so friendly and happy- I always take that as a good sign of genuine quality within an establishment.

Pros: happy, healthy, vibrant atmosphere, very clean, excellent quality products

Cons: expensive per island standards, menu is a bit limited

Delicious, healthy, REAL, vegan food - Edit

MV does not have many vegan options, and having been in a rush prior to my vacation, I did not do a good job of packing my own food for the trip. Luckily, Not Your Sugar Mamas came to the rescue. The Mexican rice bowl I had for one lunch was delicious, and the half size was larger and more filling than I expected. The cassava waffle with chocolate, PB, and banana made the perfect breakfast, and the three bean salad was great as a to go lunch for the beach. What I love most about this place is that they don't serve overly processed food. Most vegan cheese and dairy products are filled with additives, but not the homemade ones I saw here. Is it pricey? Well - everything in MV is pricey, and the food here is REAL food, organic and fresh. To eat a clean, healthy diet, you usually have to spend a bit more, and the food here is well worth it. In fact, taking all of this into account, I think eating here is a good deal.

Best on Island - Edit

One of the hardest parts of the island is finding vegan options, and Not Your Sugar Mamas is exactly what it needed. The food and drinks have constantly been great and the menu is extensive for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Also there's a cooler for to go vegan cheeses, soups, salads, and specials. They use organic and in season local produce so everything has been fresh. Vegan cooking classes and workshops are commonly available and helpful!

Pros: Great food, nice vibe, friendly staff

Cons: expensive

Excellent Options, But Very Expensive - Edit

This place has some wonderful vegan options, but, due to the nature of the island, it's quite expensive. We got a small coconut BLT flatbread, small buffalo chickpea salad flatbread, two house made chocolate bars, and a package of oatmeal raisin cookie biscuits which all cost around $60, including a tip! I'd say if you're just visiting the island, it's well worth the splurge, but it's not something most people will be able to afford on the regular.

They support local and organic business though! Everything is organic and, whenever possible, sourced locally.

Haven of yumminess - Edit

I was in town during a blustery December day and saw this place on Happy Cow and decided to check it out. What a gem. The folks here are truly passionate about safe delicious healthy options to nurture and fortify. I had the most delicious meal followed by some wholesome treats and then went back to buy dinner as a takeaway! I highly recommend you make this a stop in your visit to MV!

Delish food - Edit

This chocolate factory and restaurant is amazing!! The owners and staff are sweet, creative and add their positive energy to the food they make. You have to try the Indian curry and caramel bites. Their dandy blend and mylk shakes are fantastic too!!! I eat there 4-5 days a week and there is always something different, healthy and delishous to eat. Breakfast, lunch and ocationaly dinner. Do yourself a favor and get in for a vegan, kosher, healthy no refined sugar treat.
