Yummy chicken sandwich - Edit
We ordered the chicken ranch sandwich and it was delicious, it's a huge fluffy patty, and was possibly the best mock fried chicken I've had, and the bacon was so good, also the bun too, I thought was extra yummy because my past experiences, vegan buns don't always taste great. We got an order of fries and they tasted super light and crispy. For fast food it all tasted quite fresh!
Read moreA word of warning we arrived towards the end of their day about two hours before closing and they were out of everything we tried to order until we just had to ask what they did have! But that's actually a good thing because they were really busy the entire time we were there (Sunday afternoon) so it was great to be able to try such a popular local spot. We'll definitely stop again earlier next time!

Bomb Breakfast and Brunch! - Edit
I would eat their breakfast sammies for every meal if I could. I ordered from NYM's for the first time when I was wicked hungover, and it was exactly what I needed. I even cried one day when they were closed for a week because the owners were celebrating their anniversary! (But also, I was delighted that they gave themselves the time off. I just really love their food lol!)

vegan comfort food at it's finest - Edit
i finally came here for the first time and it did not disappoint. there were so many options to choose from that all sounded delicious. i ended up getting a French toast breakfast sandwich and a side of Mac n cheese. both were so delicious i can't even. i practically inhaled the Mac and the sandwich is HUGE. I ate almost half then took a break. i cannot wait to come back here to try more

Great vegan donuts and good entrees - Edit
One of my friends raves about this place saying it’s their favorite vegan restaurant of all time. It was really good(especially the donuts) but the fake bacon kind of freaked me out. I would definitely give it a try.

Good, but… - Edit
I hate to give a 100% vegan place less than five stars (truly) unless something is really wrong with the place. I was really looking forward to trying this little cafe when I found myself in Worcester, especially after so many accolades on Happy Cow and the vegan MA Facebook group… and while it was good, I was also disappointed that it wasn’t great. I think a big part of my disappointment was that it seemed not one item on the menu wasn’t made from a mock product that I could have ultimately gotten and made at home for a fraction of the cost.
Read moreThe vegan meats were Beyond, Impossible, Mrs Goldfarb’s Unreal Deli, and Juicy Marbles. All good brands, but none are even that hard to find. The vegan cheese was similar; the brand wasn’t advertised but it tasted like the same stuff I can get at the supermarket (maybe Violife). The mock egg products were all JustEgg (not even an option for a tofu scramble or chickpea omelet or anything). And so on.
While I get that a place of analogs is some people’s jam, it was hard to get excited to pay so much money for a meal that was more *assembled* than cooked. The cafe didn’t seem to have the capacity to do much actual cooking so I get it, but it just felt like paying a huge up charge for things that would not have been hard to make myself.
The food was well-prepared, though. I enjoyed my Ruben sandwich even though it was really oily. They chose good bread, and used lots of sauerkraut. The proportions were right. The max and cheese was ok. It didn’t blow me away but it was pretty enjoyable. My donut was too sweet and had been either refrigerated or frozen so was too cold, which was a bummer. I admit I am spoiled because I live close to the best vegan donut shop in the world, and I think most people would accept both those factors for a decent vegan donut, but it was still a let down.
The pros are definitely the staff and the effort. The staff was so enthusiastic about their jobs and vegan food. You can tell this place wants to be involved in its communities, both the vegan community and the Worcester community. And it’s nice to see vegan food having such a moment in a state that usually cannot be bothered to cater to us. I know this place is relatively new, so I hope this review invites them to think about how to diversify their menu while still keeping their junk-food vibe, and maybe move beyond the standard store-bought items to something a little more unique. I truly am rooting for this place.

Hi, we actually make our chicken in house along with all of our sauces and dressings, our Reuben and Turkey are from Born From Pain in RI not unreal. And we use impossible for our burgers and steak n cheese. We get our cheese from nurish in Vermont (another very small company ) the Mac n cheese is our recipe and we make it fresh everyday. The staff is myself and wife(the owners ) and we do enjoy what we do. I’m sorry you felt that is was all frozen store bought foods but we try to use as many local non corporate companies as possible. Not to mention we are on the lower cost for our food in the area. Even non vegan places charge more for their vegan options. We are literally a small mom and pop. I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy your food and you chose to assume everything we do is just store bought. Just ask next time what is and what isn’t made locally from a small business or made in-house. Or maybe we should take it as a compliment that our stuff taste like a national chain…

Man that steak bomber - Edit
I was in town for a week and having trouble finding decent vegan food around here. This place was a welcome surprise. I got alot for multiple meals but that steak bomber was the star, man was that thing good. I also got a breakfast sandwich, mac and cheese, and a Boston cream donut, all were very very good. Small place but still plenty of room, decent parking, fast service and not too expensive. I will definitely be back when I come to town next.

WOW - Edit
Checked out Not Ya Mama's on our way up north last week and it was so good we had to stop again on our way back a couple days later! We had the chkn Cesar wrap, Italian sandwich, turk'y BLT and impossible cheese steak bomb and a few donuts. Everything was delicious but especially the donuts! Some of the best vegan donuts I have every had! They were very busy at lunch time the first day we were there so we had to wait a while for our food so if you're in a rush probably best to order online or go on a day when you have the extra time just in case.

Oh my God. So amazing. We came for vegan brunch-- as vegans know, this can be a hard thing to find-- and we were blown away. The French toast was terrific. Both types of bacon are right on point, and the staff is kind and welcoming.

Fantastic Vegan Food for Everyone!! - Edit
Anyone vegan or vegetarian should not miss Not Ya Mama's Vegan Cafe if you are in or near Worcester. Those of you that are meat-eaters will love this restaurant too. It's that good! I had the BLT, my husband had the BBQ Chick'un Sandwich and we split the sweet potato fries, all delicious and very satisfying. We are from out of town but plan to eat at this restaurant again before we return to Philadelphia.
