Great option - Edit
Went with a non vegan friend so options for all. I had a vegan fish supper with was vegan fish, chips and a vegan tartar sauce. Big portion, super fresh😄

There's a clearly labelled vegan fish and chip option that comes with mushy peas.

Not bad if you're in the area - Edit
Had the Twisted Wheel last night, the deep fried banana blossom was too oily (yeah yeah it's deep fried) and bland. The mushy peas had a nice taste and chips were ok. Can't complain but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. I do much more prefer the Northcote fish and chip shop.
Read moreThey also sell bbq jackfruit pies, but there weren't any left when we were there (towards closing). The English server was very friendly and knowledgable on vegan options.
As an aside, Hughesy came in when we were there.

Chips 🍟 were super nice and ethical since frying is the most humane and instant method to cook potatoes... They don't even suffer! The mushy peas 💚 and vegan tartare sauce 💛 were nice too. The banana 🍌 flower wasn't too good... The batter was yummy Ay Eff but the flower didn't have good structural integrity and ended up in a mushy (yet tasty) mess. I'd probably prefer a deep fried n battered Veggie Delights sausage 🌭 or anything really. Weird labelling of vegan and veg options, it's VG = vegan, and V = vego. Super busy with shiny happy staff. #ijwtt #aloimaak.
