Addictive sometimes food - Edit
Best vegan fish and chips in Melbourne! The first time I got this on Uber eats I was blown away, it’s affordable, a bit of a novelty but also tasty!

Unbelievable service - Edit
After deciding to eat in, we sat down after being told the food would brought to us. We were expecting it to be wrapped up as usual but were surprised that this traditional-style fish & chip shop provided full table service. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Read moreWe had the 'vish' (mock fish) and 'scampi' (mock prawns) with vegan tartare. It's all cooked in a dedicated fryer. Food was delicious and we left so full we could barely walk!
Pros: Great service, Big vegan menu

Loved it all - Edit
Visited on a Sunday afternoon. Bit of a wait but they were very upfront about this before we ordered. Had the vish, dim sims, potato cakes and vegan tartare.

Vegan Options - Edit
*Update* I’ve been back a couple of times since, and the very lovely young counterhand has done his utmost to make up for my initial experience (still wouldn’t bother with the potato cakes here, but the ‘vish’ is pretty good).
Read moreThe worst potato cakes I've ever had - literally a millimetre (or less) shaving of potato dipped in batter, and deep fried to the size of crisps. My local fish n chippery, around a km towards Thornbury, makes large thick potato cakes (vegan, except they don't use a separate fryer) for 20% less!!! I know where I'll be getting my next round of grease.
I'd stopped here on the way home, as: a) I felt like something greasy; and: b) I was knackered and wanted some 'fast' food. After getting me to pay upfront - without a word of warning - I then sat in the takeaway shop for some *45 minutes* before my 'vish & potato cakes' were handed to me! Luckily I checked the bag before storming out, otherwise I wouldn't have noticed the two crisp-sized objects sitting beside my (equally overcooked) 'vish'.
I'm giving this venue three (3) stars instead of two (2), because: a) the counterhand apologised when I complained about the 'potato cakes', and made me two more (just as shoddy as the first round, but still - he tried); and: b) because their 'vish' wasn't bad, and I might return to try more of their vegan menu items (and, of course, popping into my local on the way home for the accompanying potato cakes!).
Pros: decent vegan menu, separate fryer for veg*n items
Cons: worst 'potato cakes' I've ever had, overpriced (especially the 'potato cakes'), verrrrrrrrrry slowwwwwwwww 'service', serves flesh

Vegan fish and chips! - Edit
We came here when they’d first started doing vegan fish and were really impressed. They’ve now expanded the menu and told us they have plans to expand even more!! The vegan menu is awesome, scampi and fawns are so delicious and pumpkin burger was great too. They were sold out of the vish the second time we went but it was delicious the first time!
Read morePros: Lots of vegan options , I think vegan stuff is cooked in separate fryer? , Lovely staff
Cons: None!
