Good and interesting Japanese food

Noodlecat featured delicious food, a diverse set of vegetarian and vegan options, and an interesting decor. Be sure and ask for the vegan menu, although there are some vegetarian items on the regular menu that are not vegan.

In addition to good food, they have a number of interesting cocktails.

The decor is light hearted and relaxed. Our waiter was friendly and engaging, but not pushy. The "chairs" are only stools and would be uncomfortable for a long dinner.

Pros: Wide selection, Bar menu

Cons: Uncomfortable chairs

menu change

Noodle cat seems to have a new menu. There were only a few vegetarian and vegan options. The curry udon was not marked vegan, although when I asked, it actually was. It was pretty good, with lots of vegetables.

Pros: noodles, decor, friendly and helpful staff

Cons: not as many vegan options

Great Customer Service

Although their menu does not list what is vegan and what is not and after reading reviews by other vegans it seemed pretty easy to navigate. Just as an extra precaution I put vegan in my order notes, luckily I received a call from the manager letting me know that some of their noodles and tempura veggie buns are not vegan. She kindly suggested different noodle options (rice or udon) and offered to replace the buns with a salad or give me a refund.

Pros: Good Customer Service, Good curry

Cons: Menu doesn't cleary label what is vegan friendly

vegan menu, not authentic

This place isn't authentic Japanese cuisine, but they don't claim to be! Has a separate vegan menu which is always a plus. The veggie cake is delicious (love any place that serves a vegan tempura!). Prices aren't great but everything is filling. A good option if in the area.

Noodlecat, Cleveland

Our family of 5 vegans ate at Noodlecat, Saturday evening, August 24. We were not impressed. Authentic Japanese ingredients but no idea how to cook with them. Everything over-heated and chili used to mask natural flavours. Vegan restaurant choices in Cleveland are very limited compared to other major US cities. Noodlecat is not the solution.

Pros: Friendly service, Authentic Japanese ingredients

Cons: No idea how to cook Japanese cuisine, Overheated, chili used to mask natural flavours

Very authentic Japanese-style noodle house

If you are looking to scratch that noodle itch, Noodlecat is your place! It is a downtown Cleveland gem that is worth finding. While not a vegetarian place, they completely "get" what vegetarians want; to feel safe knowing we are not consuming anything from an animal. Noodlecat bends backwards to make people with different dietary patterns comfortable. Yes, if you are a gluten-free, vegan, noodle aficionado, this is your place! They have a wonderful vegan broth for their soups and their small menu has other vegan options. Additionally, Noodlecat has plenty of options on their menu for your omnivorous friends so they don't have to feel "challenged" by your diet. Also, if you are a sports fan, you will love their bar in the back which has a lot of seating, the same wonderful menu and the option to watch how the Browns are doing this season! Try this place, it is authentic and it really rocks!!!

Pros: Excellent food, Fun atmosphere, Knowledgeable, considerate staff

Cons: Can get noisy
