Just okay - Edit

Tried the vegetarian pho which was really bland and full of noodles with barely any veggies in it. The veggie vermicelli bowl (on the first page of the menu) was much much better and - a good option if you're looking to fill your tummy on a budget. I'd skip the spring rolls though. They were really dry and filled with 80% noodles with just a few strands of veggies in them.

Pros: Cheap, Friendly staff

Cons: Bland food, Doesn't taste fresh

Best veggie food in vietnam so far! - Edit

I found this place on my second night in Hanoi. Since then I've been back 5 times and is the only place I will eat at in Hanoi! The prices are very good, around 55,000 per meal and it tastes so good! I've eaten at some pricier restaurants and tried lots of street food and hands down this place wins. It's actual veggie food with taste! I've tried most of the veggie options on the menu and they can actually cook tofu well here! The best meal I've had was a mushroom and tofu clay pot which is served with rice. It comes in a sticky sauce and is by far the best thing I've eaten through my whole trip in Vietnam. Veggie food is so bland most places in Vietnam, if only most places were like this.

Pros: Nice staff, Amazing food. All of it., Cheap!

Cons: None, None, None

Sit Outside on the Balcony if Possible :) - Edit

Cheap, filling and a good atmosphere, my boyfriend and I came here as it was situated very close to our hotel.

We both ordered the chay pho was which 40,000VND and we had the veggie spring rolls and vermicelli (45,000VND I think) to share. The portions were large, however both lacked flavour and needed a lot of additional seasoning.

The restaurant itself is on 2 floors and has a few tables on the balcony upstairs overlooking the busy street below. It's a nice place to chill with a beer (15,000VND for a Halida)

Would recommend and would go back if I wanted a cheap fix

Pros: Environment , Cheap Food, Serves beer

Cons: Gets very busy at lunch time , Food was a little bland

Good cheap vegan noodles - Edit

This place isn't a dedicated vegetarian restaurant, but it does offer an impressive two pages of vegan versions of popular Vietnamese dishes. The ideal place for me to go with my meat-eating boyfriend.

I actually went back here 3 times during my stay as it was just down the road from my hostel and cheap, quick and convenient. All 3 times I had the same thing - the Bun tron chay (vegetarian vermicilli), because it was so good. Rice noodles were topped with a tangy broth, shredded papaya, beansprouts, tofu, pickles, peanuts and herbs. For me it's the condiments that really make this dish and this place has got a great selection; limes, kumquats, pickled garlic, chilli-jam and soybean sauce, yum!

Very quick, efficient service, nice clean restaurant and this dish is a bargain for only 35,000vnd. Also in a great location near the cathedral.

Broke my cardinal rule - Edit

Reading previous 'vegan' posting, we went here for lunch/breakfast. Definately a bad move.
My first mistake was eating in a meaty with vegan options. We had eggplant and 'fried' tofu cooked in a clay pot, packet noodles with vegetables (carrot, onions and morning glory), 4 raw spring rolls (salty and just full of vermicelli noodle) and four samosas. The four dishes came out within 5 minutes, suggesting it was pre-heated in a microwave. The eggplant clay certainly was not freshly baked, the eggplants fell apart and was sitting in three inches of liquid, like it was from the day before reheated. I certainly didn't give this place a Happy Cow sticker, I did see a trip advisor sticker on the wall, how it got that maybe only Bangkok would you buy them in the market in Khosan. No we did not eat these dishes, sampled each one and told the serving person what we thought. Oh we had two fresh coconuts and mine was very sour, which they did exchanged. To cap off this disappointing place my partner was sick outside in the gutter. Not a good place, avoid like the plague. Why are there so many postings made by vegans who compliment places of miseries who offer 1 or 2 vegan options?

Cons: all over cooked, was not freshly made, reheated from the day before

so tasty! highly recommend - Edit

One of my favorite meals in Vietnam! Had a vegetarian rice noodle dish. Had a lot of tofu, crunchy peanuts and fresh herbs, carrots and delicious dressing! We sat upstairs on the balcony, watching the street below. We asked if we could go up, otherwise we wouldn't have known we were able to. Recommend this place.

Pros: super tasty and good sizes , good menu if going with non vegetarian friends, large upstairs area with balcony

Really good food and good location - Edit

I'm coming here almost daily because of the good location and the moderate prices. Good selection of veg dishes (NO MOCK MEAT). Recommend fresh spring rolls and vermicelli. important to ask for no fish sauce!

nice place with good food - Edit

the place is cheap (35.000 to 70.000 dong for the vegetarian dishes) compared to other places in Hanoi and the owner is a really nice person.

also the food is quite good and they understand the word 'vegetarian' as they use no fishsauce in the vegetarian meals. most vegetarian meals are vegan I think. and the size of the meal is really good.
