One of the best meals ever eaten - Edit
I recently dined at Nonna Nini, located near Piazza del Comune in Assisi, and it was absolutely delicious—one of the best meals I have ever eaten. The restaurant offers a unique blend of Indian and Italian cuisine, resulting in complex flavors that are both subtle and strong.

Unlike many places where you have to ask for modifications, their vegan offerings are thoughtfully crafted without needing to request the removal of cheese or other non-vegan ingredients.
The chef is super friendly and clearly passionate about the food. The experience leans towards fine dining, but the atmosphere remains casual and relaxed. The service and ambiance were both great, making the entire experience enjoyable. My only minor disappointment was the lack of vegan dessert options.
Overall, Nonna Nini is a fantastic spot for anyone looking to explore a fusion of Indian and Italian flavors, whether you have dietary restrictions or not.

Read moreThe owner was very knowledgeable and accommodating towards veganism. I ordered the samosas (which she said they would serve without the yoghurt to make it vegan), and a chickpea curry, whose name I don't recall, which was already vegan.
The samosas were delicious, and so was the chickpea curry, which had a truffle oil through it. This was so different but so good!
The chef came out to say hello, both him and the owner were so lovely and friendly.

We got samosas with Indian inspired vegetables on the side. (Also got nonvegan ravioli drenched in butter 😕 for my mom). The samosas were very good but she accidentally put dairy yogurt on my plate. Although she apologized profusely, she didn’t catch it until I asked about it.

Creative Umbrian / Indian Fusion - Edit
Plenty of vegan options at this Umbrian and Indian fusion restaurant. It’s a delightful place. The chef is from Vermont, and the other chef is from India who has been in RCC for one year. Together they are making some very creative dishes. They have plenty of vegan options. If you let them know you’re coming ahead of time, they are willing to work with you to create Alternative vegan options as well. We were so impressed that we came back a second time during our 10 day vacation. I highly recommend Nonna Nini.

Vegan options are not clearly labeled but they are happy to do some modifications to create vegan dishes! The food is incredible. Highly recommend it!

Abbiamo anche preso le verdure speziate servite con riso e anche queste erano buone.
Purtroppo il servizio è stato molto lento nonostante ci fossero solo altri 2 tavoli occupati e oltre a questo abbiamo trovato due capelli in due piatti.
Prezzi un po' alti ma in linea con gli altri ristoranti "turistici" della zona.

Surprise Indian food! - Edit
I found this place listed here. The menu was all in Italian, of which I understand very little, so I asked our server (all the staff spoke great English) what they had that’s vegan. Turns out there’s a visiting Indian chef, so he whipped up some chana masala, aloo gobi, lentil soup, and basmati rice, and he personally served it to mommy and me! It was glorious and everyone was very nice. The bread they put on our table (not naan) was gross.

Very friendly and a clear understanding of “vegan”. The meal freshly prepared at short notice was fantastic. They could do wonders with more notice, including vegan dessert. Ask for the owner Tracy who is fantastic.
