Lovely relaxed atmosphere

The place has a lovely vibe, with friendly staff. I had the coconut french toast which was delicious, especially the sugar dusted fruit. Without the fruit though, the toast did taste quite bland.

Nice place, but expensive

The food was nice. Coffee was good. Expensive though. Friendly staff.

New favourite cake place in Canterbury

I've often struggled to find a good cake spot right in the middle of Canterbury, especially one that isn't a chain coffee shop, sonim glad to have found No. 35 on my last visit. We were there late in the day so a lot had already sold out but even so we were able to get some cake each (chocolate and Victoria sandwich) and even got some pastries to takeaway for the next morning. The staff were very friendly and helpful in letting us know which cakes were vegan (they didn't all have a label) and the location is perfect if you're looking for post-shopping refreshments. They seem to have a few vegan options on their lunch menu too so I'll definitely stop by to try that in future, but I'll have to leave room for cake.
