Amazing fully vegan food in Florence - Edit
Just back from what can only be described as a stunning vegan meal in Florence. Nirvana is a fully vegan restaurant and the friendliest service we have had in a very long time. We shared the truffle carbonara, the lasagna and the eggplant parmigiana followed by the tiramisu. Everything was very flavourful, authentic and just delicious. Some of the best food, not just vegan food, we have eaten in a restaurant for a very long time. So much so we plan to go back tomorrow to try different things. Just as an add on the vegan Parmesan cheese was delicious. Would highly recommend.

A nice restaurant about halfway between the station and the main tourist centre. It offers an entirely vegan menu and tries to mimic a traditional Italian menu, with antipasti, pasta, main course and desserts. We shared the truffle linguine, which is indeed very good indeed, and then had our main courses of schnitzel and tofu steaks. These were OK but nothing more. The desserts were good and the service was excellent. It was very hot when we were there so most diners sat outside, although we stayed indoors where it was very quiet. We walked past the place a few times later and it seems to be busier after 8pm.

The only wine they offer by the glass is their house wine, I asked what they were and was told “red” and “white”. Made me feel a little silly when I was just trying to decide what wine to pair with my meal as a solo diner.

For my meal I went with their Chianti seitan which comes with baked potatoes and salad, and their truffle linguine based on other recommendations I have seen here.
Their truffle linguine was phenomenal, cooked al dente. no notes. If you come here, this is the dish you must try!
Their seitan was good, I was intrigued by the fact it was house made and I cannot fault the texture or taste. A little too meaty for me, if texture is a trigger for you. However it was cold in the middle and tasted as if it had been microwaved in contrast to the hot gravy on top.
The baked potatoes were nice and the salad tasted fresh.
Overall I would give Nirvana 3.5/5.
I wanted to add that the truffle linguine itself was a 5/5 and the service itself was lovely. The staff are very attentive and kind.

There is a mention on the menu that certain products may contain traces of milk. As every vegan knows, it is mandatory to mention this for people with severe allergies, and it is moreover mentioned on the majority of food products sold in store.

I found the restaurant on this app and decided to try it. When I opened the menu, the first thing I noticed was milk in the allergen list and the warning at the bottom of each page that there could be traces of milk in the dishes.I had a vegan carbonara which honestly had nothing of the carbonara but seemed more like spaghetti with truffles with some pieces of seitan that were more boiled than crunchy,My girlfriend instead had a blueberry tagliolini that had an unclear flavour.The desserts, on the other hand, were clearly packaged products and my girlfriend couldn't taste one of them because she was lactose intolerant.

Leider nicht ganz überzeugend. Als Starter hatten wir den “Pasta Mix”. Dieser bestand aus zwei mini croissants mit Gemüse Füllung, indischem cracker und trockenem Weißbrot. dazu serviert wurde noch veganer Schinken, ein wenig Rucola ein Aufstrich und veganer Parmesan. Als Hauptspeise hatten wir die vegane Carbonara mit Trüffel und die Linguine mit Trüffel. Die Linguine mit Trüffel waren sehr lecker. Bei der Carbonara haben wir uns sehr viel mehr erhofft. Sie war nicht cremig und hatte auch nicht den intensiven Trüffel Geschmack wie die Linguine. Als Nachtisch hatten wir das Tiramisu. Das war leider eine totale Pleite. Die Creme war Vanille Pudding - vermutlich fertig gekauft - und die Kekse haben weder nach Amaretto noch nach Café geschmeckt. War also einfach ein ganz anderes Gericht, dafür sind 6€ sehr happig. Insgesamt würde ich sagen, dass sich die Trüffel Linguine sehr lohnen, man die restlichen Speisen aber besser daheim selber nach kochen kann. Schade eigentlich. Vermutlich liegt das aber auch daran, dass das Konzept eine Mischung aus Indisch - Italienisch war und es hier besser wäre, sich auf das Kochen einer Nationalität zu konzentrieren.

Read moreMy friend and I both had the truffle carbonara which was delicious and we each had a dessert, a cheesecake and tiramisù alongside a refreshing apple juice. The tiramisù was one of the best ones I had ever tasted and the carbonara was pleasantly filling. The staff was friendly and made sure we had everything we could need.
The only downside was the lack of air-conditioning. The lack of air conditioning made staying at the restaurant for longer than 40 minutes uncomfortable and unbearable. I would’ve been loved to stay longer to order more food if there had been air conditioning. I am Italian so I am familiar with Italian culture’s apprehension of air conditioning however other restaurants in Florence have air conditioning and the immense summer heat is well-known. I will definitely return but during cooler weather.

Wir hatten die „Croutons“ als Vorspeise; die einfach nur Brot mit unterschiedlichen Aufstrichen waren, die Carbonara und die Ravioli zur Hauptspeise, die leider sehr fad geschmeckt haben und das Tiramisu, das einfach nur Vanille-Pudding mit Keksen war.
Auch die Portionsgröße war leider auch nur ok :/
Alles hätte man sich gut zu Hause besser kochen können :/
Kann ich leider nicht empfehlen.

Mi dispiace che per lei un raviolo ai broccoli con salsa di pomodoro pieno di verdure sminuzzate e basilico fresco non abbiano sapore, se le mancava il sale il ragazzo gliele portava gratuitamente. I crostini in Italia si fanno con le salse……. Inoltre la carbonara è più di 50 anni che viene fatta, la conoscono in tutto il mondo, vengono proprio per quella. Il tiramisù è fatta con una crema di soya. Ma non è che lei cercava le cose non vegane? E ha sbagliato locale?! Qua è tutto a base vegetale e soprattutto tutto fatto in casa giornalmente, che se uno è vegano se ne accorge istantaneamente.

We ate here two times, it was real nice experience. We had the Carbona, Spaghetti Amatrician, Crepes with hummus and cream cheese and the amazing tiramisu. It‘s a full vegan restaurant. The waiters were really friendly. You have to go to Nirvana, if you are in Florence.
