Serves meat, vegan options available. Hostel restaurant offering a few vegan items such as burger, pacarda board and two arepas. Open Mon-Sun 11:00am-12:00am.
This place looked so promising. They have many vegan items on the menu. Unfortunately, they aren't as vegan-friendly as their menu suggests. I ordered the vegan arepa and a salad for myself and some fried yuca to share with a friend. I told the waitress that I was vegan when I ordered. The fried yucca and my salad came out at the same time. I immediately noticed that the salad had an egg on top, which wasn't listed on the menu, so I again explained that I couldn't eat that, and I had them take it back. At this point I was sceptical about the sauce that was on the fried yuca, which again wasn't listed on the menu. The waitress came back out with the salad without the egg but a caesar dressing. I asked her if it was vegan, and she said it seemed like it was to her. I asked if she could check, and she again took it back and never came back with it. When she came out with my arepa, I asked her about the sauce on the fried yucca, and she said it only contained mayonnaise. 🙃 The arepa was fine flavor-wise though it was supposed to come with some kind of protein made from soy, and it did not. Overall, this was a disaster of a meal, and I would not recommend this place for vegans.
