Great food, great value

Indian bowls were really good. Lots of veggies. Ton of food - easily enough for two meals. Great value. Listed as vegetarian but only one cheese item on the menu. Everything else is vegan

New Cafeteria Style Service

The food here is incredible. The same great people are serving the same amazing food in a to-go friendly sustainable way. What’s better than a sustainable flavorful bowl to-go? Keep up the good work!

Pros: Delicious food, Easy options, To-go packaging is environmentally friendly

Cons: All menu items not always available, Card machine not always available , Not many drink choices available

I miss this place soo much

Back home I used to pretty much live at this place. And they basically helped me to become vegan with food so good!! My favorite was the vegan kofta and I did get bliss thali on my last birthday in NY which I did savor

Wonderful ayurvedic center

I do not understand the other reviews here. It's quite rare to find an ayurvedic menu and I couldn't be more thrilled to discover Bliss Kitchen does! We were greeted and had lovely service, talked through the menu and recommended some raw dessert! We will definitely be back, especially for the buffet.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Buffet, Ayurveda

Ok if it's on your way

I drove 45 minutes to check this out. I had heard it was so good with great ratings. Personally,I was a bit disappointed. My husband got the buffet. At $15 the food was lacking diversity in flavor and most of it was cold. I ordered from the menu so my food was hot but at $13 I felt it was over priced. The staff was very friendly and the place was clean with books to read while enjoying your chai tea. I won't make another special trip but would stop if it was on my way.

Pros: Several vegan options, friendly, clean

Cons: Cold food, over priced

a surprising jewel

I’ve eaten the midday buffet at Bliss Kitchen every year since they opened in 2014, so five times in all. Each year, within its genre of Indian cuisine, the food has gotten better than that served at most Indian restaurants here in America. Plus, the degree of spiciness here is very mild, which I prefer. Bliss Kitchen is totally vegetarian, and almost all items here are vegan, even those that all other Indian restaurants serve with ghee or cream. Even better, when I ate here yesterday, the soup and rice and all 11 items in the buffet were vegan. I venture to guess that they are exploring going totally vegan, but testing the market before announcing it. That’s a big step for Asian Indians, who even in America idolize the cow.

All of the food yesterday looked delicious, and it tasted as good as it looked. Even the otherwise conventional coleslaw was excellent. While the rice is white not brown, and with the exception of one deep-fried item which I avoided, the food is very nutritionally oriented according to Ayurvedic principles. Prices are very low, $15 for the all-you-can-eat buffet. Drinks and desserts cost extra. While fresh veggie juices are made-to-order, smoothies are readymade. I never try their desserts because I shun sugar, but who has room for dessert after a luxurious buffet?

You might be surprised to find this jewel in a rundown but completely safe area of Newburgh. Renovated from a long-closed diner, the interior is totally remodeled and spacious and sunny, the brightness emanating from the wraparound windows further enhanced by the many skylights overhead. The wooden tables and chairs, too, are bright and all new, and sturdy at that.

Bliss is easy to find, two miles straight off exit 10 of I-84, right on Route 9W (called Robinson Av when it traverses Newburgh). If you are undecided between choosing to eat here or one of the several eateries with veg options in the hip little city of Beacon, do not let Bliss Kitchen’s location in dumpy Newburgh dissuade you. Unlike on Beacon’s traffic-clogged Main St, you will zip right along on Newburgh’s Robinson Av, so the drive off of I-84 is quicker to here. And unlike the scant street parking in Beacon, Bliss Kitchen provides easy parking right in its own lot. Their hours sometimes vary with the season, so check its FB page or phone them for current hours.

Pros: underpriced and unlimited buffet lunches, spacious and sunny interior, all or almost all vegan

just no

Carrot soup was the only good thing. Every other thing was cold or just seasoned wrong. Not worth the 15 dollars per person.

Incredible lunch buffet

A homey, no-fuss restaurant with an incredibly diverse and delicious mostly-vegan lunch buffet! On the weekend we visited, ALL the hot food was vegan, which is normally unheard of.

If you're hoping for Tikka Masala or other "Americanized" Indian dishes, you won't find that here. Instead, we were treated to a variety of flavors and ingredients I had never tried before and am missing since!

Standouts included vegan korma in a creamy cashew tomato sauce, their cold "cole slaw" style cabbage salad, and potato roti. My husband and I live in NYC and this place beat out some of the Indian food we've had there by a mile.

Great food

Great food made with conscience. What an unexpected nice add to this odd location. The place is very simple, and open setting I was with my non-veg sister and her son and we got take out. All the food was very good, including a sprouted garbanzo and aduki bean salad with pomegranate fruit and curies with veg-balls and garbanzo "pancakes". There were no complaints from my non veg group except that they forgot to put the rice in with the order!

Friendly, peaceful atmosphere. Home-style food.

We've been going to this restaurant since before they officially opened. The warm welcome atmosphere is refreshing. The food is not typical Indian fare. It is flavorful without being bland or overly spicy. The buffet is always more than enough and is constantly changing. All foods are freshly made. Although mostly vegetarian, they are vegan friendly and gladly accommodate. They even have vegan cheeses and meats for their American fare like pizzas and subs. The Ayurvedic cooking methods really come through.

Pros: Friendly, peaceful atmosphere, Vegan accommodations, Food variety

Welcome Addition to Newburgh

I am thrilled that this restaurant opened in this area. We need this!

It's an ALL vegetarian restaurant. That's huge for me, because I love being able to order anything on the menu or eat anything at the buffet and not have to ask any questions. If you are a vegan, they can accommodate you.

The food is fresh and delicious. The smoothies and fresh juices are fantastic. The focus is on Indian food, but they are expanding their menu to include other types of food. They also offer cooking classes. My friends and I were able to participate in one and enjoyed it very much. The people that work here are kind and informative as well. The owner was kind enough to greet us and made sure we had a good time.

I highly recommend this place. You can also bring your non-vegetarian friends or family with you because the food is absolutely delicious.

Pros: Staff and Owners are friendly, Very clean, bright and airy, Food is delicious and well presented

Made with Love

When I drove by & saw the beautiful peacock mural on the building, I knew I had to check it out. We stopped in on a weeknight, nobody else was there. They were just bringing the freshly prepared dinner buffet dishes from the kitchen. We didn't need to see the menu and everything was delicious. Spiced black eyed peas, lovely saffron rice, beans, curried potato, fresh bread, and I may be forgetting something. The owners are kind and really cared about our opinion of the food. We finished with a cup of gingery masala chai, which had the perfect touch of sweetness. The space is gorgeous, housing very positive energy. We know the food was prepared with love, the way it should be. The only thing I desired was perhaps some low volume classical Indian music. Very reasonable price, too. Your being will be happy to have eaten this kind food!

Pros: Tasteful food, Lovely proprietors, Nice atmosphere

Cons: No music playing

Excellent food/Recommend the buffet

This is a new vegetarian/mostly vegan restaurant in Newburgh, NY! Mostly Indian cuisine, but they are expanding outside of that as well. Definitely recommend the buffet - great price and truly delicious food. Mostly gluten free as well for those of you with gluten intolerance. They are also super friendly and accommodating - a great new restaurant!
