Nice - Edit

We always love it when a restaurant is totally vegan. It means you take a lot of risk and you run a restaurant with passion. So much respect to All vegan places ! This is a restaurant like that with a variable menu. We have tried a lot of starters and main dices which all looked lovely. The tast was ok, but could have been a bit better. The tofu and Tempe can be more tasteful. The sauces could be more outspoken. There was a bit to much green salads on the plates. It's a nice place, lovely staff. Definitely something to try out.

Vegan Fine Dining - Edit

We finally got to visit Nico's for lunch last weekend after Jeremy Corbyn's rally and a look around the St Leonards Festival stalls in Kings Road. We weren't disappointed. I had the special, which was Japanese Bento Box and was beautifully presented and had great flavours. Couldn't fault it at all. My partner chose the Satay kebabs and we also shared a cheese board platter, which was amazing and included some of the best vegan varieties we've come across, including an excellent blue cheese and a lovely home made camembert.
For desert, we had the chocolate brownie with peanut butter sorbet and the key lime pie with coconut ice cream, both of which were delicious. We had a very refreshing rhubarb based soft drink and Earl Grey tea to drink, but the cocktails and wines sound very enticing for our next visit, which we are really looking forward to.
Friendly and informative staff.

What a gem - Edit

It was such a lovely surprise to find a vegan restaurant a stones throw from where I was staying for a couple of days in St Leonard's.

The food was delicious. I had the 'salmon' and new potatoes served with a salad, followed by a brownie and peanut butter ice cream, washed down with a huge virgin mojito.

The staff were lovely, friendly and informative. It's worth a day trip to enjoy their food and vibe.

lovely food...tiny portions - Edit

Food was delicious. Portions were small for the price they were charging for a 'main meal'. They had starter options for each meal, but we had mains...I was left wondering how small the starters would be because of how much we got for our mains. The male serving was a lovely guy and made us feel welcome, cannot fault the service or taste and quality of the food though. food was presented lovely. They need to redecorate/sort their toilets though. đŸ˜±

Pros: Great tasting food, Great service, Well presented food

Cons: Small portions, Toilets were an eye sore

Great vegan fare - Edit

A couple of our meat-eating friends suggested we try it as they went and told us it was good place for vegan food & recommended we booked as it's a small place. They have a good selection of cocktails - which were really popular and a good selction of choices on the menu. We would have to agree with our friends that the portion sizes were on the small size unless you just want something light for a starter and a main.

Pros: Great food & relaxing vibe

Cons: Small portion sizes

Great cocktails - Edit

Nice food and great drinks. The cocktail menu is varied with classics and house specialities. Would recommend the Terry (chocolate and orange) which I enjoyed as a liquid dessert. Small atmospheric space.

Pros: All vegan, Nice tapas plates, Chilled atmosphere

Fresh tasty all-vegan food - Edit

Nico's is 100% vegan and uses lots of fresh and raw foods too.
We tried:
Wholewheat spaghetti with a tasty sauce and Nico's own vegan parmesan cheese.
Vegan cheese platter as a main (think super-posh ploughman's lunch!) which had 3 different kinds of Vegusto cheese to try with cabbage slaw, olives, walnuts, dates, apple slices and delicious sourdough bread.
Raw mango cheesecake - very fresh and cold.
Chocolate brownie with peanut butter cream - no idea how this was made but it was really rich and scrummy.
Also had a fab ginger root sparkly drink that was great.
Very friendly people, chilled out comfy atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating.
Just weekend lunches at the moment as they're just getting started, but we hope this will become a fixture all week soon!

Pros: All vegan , Full of flavour, Comfy and relaxed

Cons: Weekends only at the mo.
