FED ANIMAL FLESH & REAL DAIRY CHEESE PIZZA **confirm with the server it is actually a vegan pizza!!!!

**UPDATE** I was the Happy Cow user to submit Nicky’s Coal Fired restaurant to the Happy Cow app. I ate there yesterday and I am horrified to share that I ordered a vegan supreme pizza and they served me the Nicky’s supreme pizza which is NOT vegan. It’s not even vegetarian!! The waitress, Grace was not nice, she brought us the wrong table’s check and fed me a real dairy cheese pizza that had PORK Italian sausage on it. No mock meat, no fake cheese—the real deal! I haven’t consumed dairy or animal flesh in 2.5 years by choice and because she can’t handle a simple job of taking an order, placing the order then checking the order in the KITCHEN before presenting it to the customer, they have lost my respect and business. It’s really a shame because the vegan pizza is delicious and it supports a local small business but even still—I will never eat there again. What if I had a dairy allergy? What if eating animal flesh was against my religion?

Original review in 2024:
I’m not a fan of vegan cheese so pizza is something I usually don’t eat. That is until I went to Nicky’s Coal Fired restaurant last fall. Not only do they have a vegan option pizza, it’s absolutely out-of-this-world delicious! Other Happy Cows need to know about them! Their vegan meat alternatives and vegan mozzarella are locally sourced from BE-Hive (also in Nashville). The texture of the meat and consistency of the cheese really reminded me of my pre-vegan pizzas. Anytime we’re in Nashville, we will stop in to say hi to Caroline and Tony and grab a vegan pie.

Pros: Locally sourced vegan meat alternatives, Seasonal Hefeweizen beer on tap

Cons: No vegan salad dressing options
