Opened Dec 2013, this vegetarian restaurant offers Vietnamese food. They serve mock meat. A few dishes contain egg and others a honey glaze, so vegans should ask. NOV 2014 REPORTED SHUT.

Closed?

I went there today at 8pm and it seems the restaurant is not working anymore. There is a sign outside with restaurant's name but the inside looks kind of abandoned, with random and dusty things piled here and there. Maybe they have renovation plans? If not, then it is probably got closed down.

Great food and ambiance

Great Vegetarian vietnamese cuisine. Lots of delicate tofu, mushroom, and lotus dishes as well as mock meat dishes. We ordered Tofu stuffed with mushroom and lotus seeds (it was good), a eggplant and peanut dish (amazing), and tofu-mushroom-veg stir fired (really good) and rice. Portions are large.

Visit Hanoi occasionally, finally found a decent vegetarian food! Nice environment and food. After a great meal, night shopping also beside. :)

Fantastic food in great location!

Nha Hang Chay Thien Phat was one of my favourite places to eat in Hanoi. Very elegant place, conveniently located in the Old Quarter with very kind, attentive staff.

My family and I ordered way too much, but it allowed us to sample quite a lot of the menu. The sweet potato balls, fresh spring rolls and aubergine with peanuts and chili were all great appetizers and we were pretty full after only having that.

For mains I had the 'tofu with 7 vegetables' and wow, wow, wow...it was incredible!! It was absolutely HUGE (like enough to feed 4-6 people) and I certainly wasn't expecting that. It came out in a huuuuge bowl, like almost the size of a goldfish bowl, and it was so light, yet filling and delicious, with a variety of vegetables, tofu, mock meat sausage and a delicately flavoured broth.

My parents were equally pleased with their mains and we agreed that is was one of the best meals we'd had in Vietnam.

Pros: Extensive menu, Delicious Food, Attentive Staff

Great Vietnamese cuisine

A lovely simple restaurant with friendly service in a cosy corner of the old quarter. Food was reasonably priced and tasty - very fresh and light. Definitely recommend it!

Pros: friendly, clean

Cons: slower service

Delicious meal, superb service

We had a fantastic meal here. Stumbled upon it by accident since they are new (open three months as of Feb 2014) and were not reviewed anywhere. Finding vegetarian restaurants in the Old Quarter isn't easy, so this is a great addition to Hanoi's restaurants. The aubergine and peanuts was amazing. The set menu (150K VND option) was an amazing collection of various items from the menu. The stuff tofu and "pork" were highlights.

Pros: vegetarian, mostly vegan, Old Quarter
