CLOSED: Nha Hang Chay

This is a small little place with really friendly staff - though it might take some work to get their attention. Even so, I love the food there as it has led me astray. The last time I was there, the kitchen was closed so they only offered banh mi chay (the Vietnamese sandwiches), which was a major bummer (I was craving some com tam), but it was good as always. I definitely come here for my Vietnamese veggie fix. :) It's delicious, affordable, and close to where I live.

Every now and ,when I'm on the Beltway 8 side of town, I like to stop by this place to pick up some vegan egg rolls. I also reccommend the rice, but the veggie ham can be a bit overwhelming, not to worry, I'm sure that if you specify, they will hold back on this ingredient a bit.

I prefer to pick up my food to go, because I think that improvement is needed in the area of friendly customer service and they could be more aware of wiping food and sauces off of their menus, which can be an edible turnoff for me, but I would say that the place is clean enough to eat, so don't let me deter you.

The spring rolls are well worth the visit.

I've been impressed with the veggies Pho and Bun Hue chay at this restaurant. With few sandwiches to bring back home, it was a perfect weekend after I finished the Rock and Roll marathon in San Antonio. Cannot wait to try the next dishes.
