Fabulous - Edit
Hubby and I went for lunch. He loved the Hotdog with sauerkraut. I went for the Mexican bean burger. I am not a fan of processed not-meat so was happy to see a home made black bean and veggie patty. I had extra tempeh bacon which was yum, but lost as there was not enough. The pomegranate draught kombucha was yum too.
Pros: All organic, Good looking salads, Non processed not-meat options
Cons: No sweets, cookies or cakes, No hot drinks

Worth the money - Edit
For the price it's pretty good. Not the most amazing thing ever but still, I would absolutely go back!
Pros: all vegan menu
Cons: lots of daiya tasting cheese

All my non-veg friends love it - Edit
I really dig this place. My best friend (omnivore) compares all burgers to their all-American and says there's really no reason to not be veg now! Also do yourself a favor and get a milkshake while you're there.
Pros: milkshakes!

Amazing! Food and Staff were Awesome! - Edit
Really good food, friendly informative staff. I had the Kraut Dog. Brandy had the Chili Cheese Dog. Both were fantastic. The dog itself was the best vegan dog I ever had! All the fries, and tots are baked which helps to keep the fat down!
Pros: Baked fries and tots, Great staff, Great food
Cons: It is in Portland and we live in Indiana!

Marginally better than a Boca burger. - Edit
I had the "sausage bacon" burger with "cheddar". The burger was just alright, not fantastic. Whatever they used as a cheese substitute was pretty good though.
Pros: Good fake cheddar, not incredibly spendy.
Cons: Food isn't terribly impressive.

Delicious vegan burgers - Edit
Love Next Level! Great variety of burgers and they aren't massively huge so I don't feel like I'm stuffing my face! Great sides and shakes too. Love the variety and the add-ons for their burgers and that it's all organic for a fair price!
Pros: delicious, lots of choices, vegan burger heaven

great fast food alternative - Edit
Everything is vegan, much is organic. A great alternative to fast food burger joint. Healthy fountain sodas and baked fries, a bunch of veggie patty & topping options. We didn't try the "next level cheese" but I think it might be house made ( not daiya)
Cons: loud, not a place to hang out for a long time

Great concept, great food - Edit
I love the fast-casual burger bar concept here. The restaurant is well-lit and attractive, the service is friendly, and the food is great.
They have an impressive variety of burgers patties, including tofu, black bean, quinoa, and mushroom, among others. Also, many of the patties and condiments are homemade.
We ordered tots smothered with bleu cheez and bbq sauce along with a chili cheez dog and a signature burger. All were delicious.
Only two (minor) complaints. The tots could have been a little crispier, and the straw for our milkshake was made of paper, so it lost its structural integrity before we could finish the drink.
That said, we had a fantastic experience here. I've never been to another place with such a nice variety of veggie burgers, and the homemade components are a really nice touch. This is a really brilliant place.
Pros: Great variety, Homemade
Cons: Milkshake straw disintegrated, Tots weren't crispy

amazing "burger" spot - Edit
Okay so pretty much everything here is made with great ingredients and tastes amazing. They have beer as well as many organic sodas and lemonades to wash it down. The only draw back is it's slightly expensive. This is a place to go for a little self spoil.
Pros: taste , ingredients , sustainable atmosphere
Cons: expensive but worth it

oh my god - Edit
This was the first place my boyfriend and I tried on our recent trip to Portland. We had no idea what we were in for. we ordered the SoCal burger (because being from southern California we kinda had to), the krout dog, tater tots, hombucha, and the hot cakes caramel milk shake. Absolutely everything blew us away. The first bite into that burger, we knew we were sold. To top it all off the service was very friendly and helpful and our cashier recommended a lot of great places for us to try.
Pros: cheap, delicious, local

Try their milkshakes! - Edit
I got the spicy black bean burger from here and I was fairly disappointed with it. It wasn't seasoned well enough and ended up being quite bland. The burger was accompanied by a chocolate milkshake which was to die for, and yummy sweet potato fries, so I'll be back for those two things, definitely. Just disappointed in the burger I got.
I will say though, my partner got the next level burger and he absolutely loved it, so it was probably just a bad day for the black bean burger. Worth trying out if you like the In-n-Out vibe, or vegan fast food :)
Pros: atmosphere , milkshakes
Cons: bland burger

Excellent Healthy Burger - Edit
It's great to see so many more vegan options appearing in Portland.
My quinoa burger was very tasty. the vegan cheese on the patty had a great flavor, and the burger itself took on the flavors of the pickles, onions and lettuce perfectly. The burger wasn't dense and heavy like many vegan burgers, but very flavorful.
I have had better vegan burgers before, but the burger I ordered here was satisfying.
Check out their wonderful organic lemonade and teas also.
Pros: great plant-based burger

healthier fast vegan fare - Edit
My little non vegan children I care for maxed out on plant based foods and didn't even notice. The 5 year old told me it was the best little burger ever! The little baby nugget ate the entire veggie dog, which surprised me. ;)
It makes me feel good to feed little beings healthy vegan food, fruit sides, and a fruit juice.
I like that the burger I had, the standard NLB, wasn't greasy and topped with all of the veggies you would hope for. Bonus that they are organic.
Honestly, I'd say that the actual burger patty wasn't the greatest, I'd say it would be better if they left it on the griddle longer, char it up a bit. Splash some oil free marinade, flame broil, just amp up the texture of the patty somehow.
I'd give it another try if I was in the area, but I don't think I'd ever have a craving for this joint.
Pros: organic, kid-friendly

Delicious plant based food - Edit
We ate at their location in Bend while visiting and are so glad they opened a restaurant in Portland. The burgers are great, I love that the fries are baked, and you have to try the shakes! I don't like the taste of a regular burger so I prefer veggie burgers that don't try to mimic a real burger too much. So my favorite NLB burger is the quinoa burger but the spicy bean burger is good too. The pancakes are great for breakfast. NLB isn't just vegan, it's organic and considerate of the environment. I feel good after eating here.

A Welcome Addition to the Neighborhood - Edit
I was please with my first visit, and will definitely give it another try. The tempeh burger was only "meh" to me (I was hoping it would be more bbq-saucy), but my son liked his basic burger. My daughters both enjoyed their kids' meals (hot dog and grilled cheese/tomato soup). I felt the tots and the fries were both under-cooked, but this is probably just a wrinkle they need to iron out. The shakes were fantastic, if a little over-sweet. The cashier was enthusiastic and friendly, genuinely seemed happy to be working at a plant-based restaurant!
Pros: quick service, kid-friendly, choices
Cons: spendy, floppy fries

Great Fast Food Option - Edit
We went here the day after they opened and were very impressed. The chocolate shake was amazing. I also loved the sweet potato fries that were baked. The dipping sauce was awesome. The quinoa burger with cheddar cheese was wonderful. My husband wasn't as thrilled with the hot dog. He felt there was too much of the topping. I'm excited to try more.
Pros: Great Selection, Friendly Staff, Good value
Cons: A bit uneven, Crowded
