Best Blue Corn-Crusted Seitan

I lived in the area from 2004 - 2014 and went here every few months. Being near two sanctuaries, the staff is well-versed in veganism. The choices aren't huge but by and large the quality and flavors are very good. The Blue Corn-Crusted Seitan is HUGE (share that and a salad with a friend) and is so good we had them cater our wedding with it.

They sometimes have a separate veggie menu but we often found accidentally-vegan stuff on the main menu, too, so don't be shy about asking.

They have a separate deep frier for meat and non-meat, which is rare.

Pros: You can live for a month off the Seitan dish, Lively scene of locals and weekenders, Full bar and good cocktails

Cons: Can get crowded on weekends--reservations smart, Pricey, Lots and lots of meat on the main menu--eww!

Excellently flavored

Between Woodstock and Saugerties, it's a good choice when dining with non veg friends. Something for everyone! Full bar, craft beers, good wine list. Upscale, seasonal menu. I love the crusted house made tempeh, blackened or grilled tofu, blackened stringbean appetizer or Seiten wings. Most dishes are served with choice of sauces, rated for spiciness. Open here for 22 years, has a similar sister restaurant in Albany.

Pros: several vegan and vegetarian options, gourmet seas

Cons: Expensive, spotty service because it's Woodstock

great food for all

The house made seitan wings are incredible. Eat them! The blackened Cajun spiced string beans are kicking too. I wasn't a fan of the curry, tofu chunks too big and coconut milk was actually too creamy. Great spot for vegans and carnivores!

Pros: vegan food, gourmet cooking, outdoor seating

Cons: pricy

delectable

the food here is just impeccable. it's the kind of food that you put in your mouth and your eyes roll into the back of your head. ALMOST TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE. Check their vegan menu! i would give this five stars if happycow would let me.

Pros: vegan menu

Cons: confusing service
