No longer offering vegan options - Edit

NDC Board and new vendors keep saying a fantastic new menu with vegan options will be coming soon. It’s been over 3 months and nothing. Why didnt the temporary menu have any vegan options at all then, if they know what to offer and cared about being humane, sustainable, and inclusive? It’s obvious the new management and board dont care about including us. A “grilled tofu” slab does not make an egg-batter waffle vegan, for example. Can’t believe NDC was our go-to neighborhood place and now serves primarily lamb body parts and other animals. There is a Reel & Meal film series held there that encourages participants to get a vegan meal at the restaurant to honor the spirit of the series and yet that is basically impossible. So disappointed! We miss the previous vendors, the Food Co-op!

New Owners - not vegan friendly - Edit

This place shouldn’t be on Happy Cow anymore. They have new owners and a very small menu without even a Beyond Burger. I turned around and left. It used to be great.

1/12/2025 Unfortunately New Deal Cafe has scaled their vegan options dramatically. They still have a couple of vegan options but I would definitely not prioritize getting a meal here as a vegan.
