Underrated no-frills fully vegan cafe

Perfect lunch spot near Forest Rec. Affordable cafeteria style dining with a good selection of options. I usually get the daal. What a treat to find a vegan mango lassi.

Lovely space.

Nice little cafe serving a good selection of vegan food inside an urban art gallery. What's not to love!

Pros: Cake and a cuppa for a fiver!, Relaxed atmosphere , Great selection of food

Cons: Would be nice if it was a slightly bigger space

New Art Exchange

The cafe is located within the New Art Exchange building on the ground floor. The building hosts contemporary art exhibitions, film screenings, community events etc and is set over several floors. No steps to access the building and there are lifts to other floors. The cafe was really busy when I popped in for lunch, lots of people remote working and meeting up. It’s a lovely community space and seems very popular, but it was incredibly noisy and definitely not somewhere I’d come if I was looking for peace and quiet! They had a varied menu, would’ve maybe have liked to see some sandwich/wrap options, but I opted for the soup. They’d run out of the advertised soup but I was offered a carrot and coriander soup instead and it was nice. There is some free on street parking outside which has a two hour limit during the day.

One of the best places to go

Brilliant food options and great quality food. They also do options for social and work gatherings too. I can’t fault the food, cakes or drinks at all.

Lovely Community Cafe

Lots of warm food options, plus good coffee and cake. All pretty reasonably priced - all mains are less than £7.
Nice atmosphere with friendly staff and an eclectic bunch of customers.
Part of the New Art Exchange which put on some really great exhibitions and events - worth a visit whilst you’re here!

Pros: Good value , Friendly staff

great humus baguette

Nice bright environment, friendly staff and delicious roasted pepper and hummus baguette!
Shame the chips never came but I was warned that the fryer was on the blink.
Will go back!

Pros: delicious, fresh

Cons: not cheap
