Fabulous flavours - Edit
Cute small restaurant. Neko Neko means cat cat and there are lots of pictures of cats around. Vegan mainly but does serve fish. We had the Neko Neko Ramen and the Eggplant Bento. Also the potato bean croquettes. Everything was so delicious. The flavours just popped. We ate absolutely everything. 5 stars if I could.

Come for the ramen stay for the drinks - Edit
NekoNeko has a great selection of vegan ramens. Thick, flavourful broths with interesting ingredients and additions.
Read moreThe surprise star of the show is the Hojicha Oat Latte though. Pretty sure they make these in house and they are amazing! I cannot recommend these highly enough.

Fantastic vegan ramen - Edit
I've hardly had such delicious ramen. The broth is rich, so flavourful, noodles are nice and chewy, served with soy meat and tofu and the right amount of spice, generous servings. Staff is nice, they gave me recommendations. Very good menu with interesting items, perfect with a cold kirin beer on a sunny day. I'll be back when I'm in Melbourne again!

So so - Edit
Was excited to come here but was let down by the food and the service. Neither were horrible, just ok.
Read moreStaff member didn’t really seem to care that we were there (maybe she was having a bad day?), which is a shame because we were excited to come but instantly brought our mood down.
Ordered some mochi cheese pockets and the tan tan ramen. Mochi cheese didn’t taste cheesy enough, but the texture was fun to eat. The ramen looked and smelled great but unfortunately didn’t taste as good. It just wasn’t salty enough, also the mince and the egg was very bland.
Despite not being impressed with my visit, I would still give this place another go to try some more of the menu; maybe I just ordered the wrong things?

Great lunch place - Edit
Good variety of textures and flavours within the dishes. Eggplant was perfectly cooked and buttery. Tofu was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Delicious vegetable side dishes. I would have liked the noodles to be slightly less soft but that is a minor preference.

Best Vegan Ramen - Edit
This is my favourite place for vegan ramen and one of my favourite restuarants in Melbourne. All the dishes are so good. The Japanese Burger is easily one of the best burgers I’ve had in my life. (The yuzu sauce is to die for.)

Vegan Ramen!!!! - Edit
I loved the atmosphere of this place! I had the Tan Tan ramen, gyoza, and vegan cheese mochi. It was so fun to try some new flavours. I also ordered some sake to share, which added to the experience. I just wished that we could have access to chilli oil so that we could add spice if we wanted. Otherwise a great recommendation!!!!

Delicious ramen for yuzu and miso - Edit
I really like Neko Neko. The ramen is all vegan, delicious and beautifully presented. The space is a little on the pokey side, but I like the triangular communal table. I hadn’t been for a while but made a point of it when I saw they had a new miso yuzu ramen on the menu. We came for lunch and ordered this, as well as the staple tantan ramen, which is the perennial favourite. The latter was amazing as always: creamy and umami without being too sharp. The new variety of ramen had its own particular points of interest: a dumpling-type thing, which I’m not sure quite held up texture-wise in the broth but was still quite delicious, and a section of a corn cob. Again the broth was not too sharp, which I do worry with miso-based soups. Very nice ramen as usual and the new one did not disappoint.

Half the menu is Vegan - Edit
Although it's a pescatarian restaurant, the menu is relatively small and is half (maybe more) vegan. The food was the best ramen I've had yet, and I'll definitely be back.

Delicious Vegan Food - Edit
The vegan options at Neko Neko were amazing, it's rare to see more vegan food than non vegan food in a not purely vegan restaurant. The food tastes amazing, the Vegan Gyoza is a must have. The only downside is how popular the place seems to be. With fairly limited seating especially during covid, it's best to get there fairly early.

Great Vegan Options - Edit
Japanese restaurant that serves vegan options as well as fish located in Fitzroy. Incredible Ramen and Japanese style curries, can get a little busy and a little bit loud. I would give this place 5 stars if it was entirely vegan.

Good ramen with a good variety of options. We came just as they opened for dinner and soon after it was full, so it seems quite popular.
