Kind of disappointing

I stopped here on a road trip hoping for a vegan meal, but I couldn’t find anything. The “grab & go” section was very sparse. Although they had a few desserts, the only lunch type options were hummus, pita and a stack of expiring curry dishes that need to be heated anyway.

I decided to switch plans and look for more snacks. They were all out of Primal Spirit jerky, they didn’t have the dried fruit that I wanted and I looked through the clearance section, but most of the items were expired.

I’ve been to dozens of Natural Grocers around the country, but this seemed to have the least amount of pre-prepared vegan food options. I wish it wasn’t so hard to eat vegan in West Texas.

Many good options

This is one of the smaller stores in the chain but they have many basic supplies for the vegetarian/vegan on the go. They have very few prepared foods but if the produce is exclusively organic and the staff will help you find what you need.

Pros: Big variety of vegan/GF items, Large organic produce section

Cons: Very few prepared food items

Natural Grocers is great for basic needs and supplements in the desert of Lubbock. Organic produce. Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free available. No pre-made options here (not really).

Over all nice place

Good place just pricey

I like this store

It is very clean and the staff is incredibly friendly and always ask if you need help finding anything. They have organic produce, organic cream, which I've had a hard time finding anywhere else, and bulk nuts & seeds etc in the back of the store. I do wish they had more vegetarian "meats"...their selection is pretty small. They also have supplements, body care, make-up etc that, I believe, is all organic:) Most of their stuff is a little pricey and you need to bring a reusable bag, as they don't have paper/plastic bags. *The environment thanks them;)
