somewhat niche - Edit
I'm not a fan of fake meat, but this place had a sufficiently broad menu that I figured it would work out fine. Perhaps I didn't read the menu carefully enough, or didn't quite know what to expect. At any rate, the result was pretty disappointing. The best way to describe this, I think, is what the US calls "comfort food" (heavy, fried stuff), even on dishes that I don't think should be served that way.
Read moreSpecifically, I ordered the orange cauliflower and the brussels sprouts, which were the two least "comfort"-looking options. The cauliflower dish's bed of grain was great, but the part I was most looking forward to — the cauliflower itself — was a huge disappointment: essentially uncooked cauliflower, deep-fried. It was hard, uncooked, and lacked any interesting flavor. The brussels sprouts also came deep fried, in a flavorful sauce. However, the sprouts themselves were chewy, the coating got soggy after a while, and in general I felt bloated and heavy from it. I gave up two-third of the way through.
I think it could have been fine if I was really craving comfort food. I was instead hoping for a decent, at-least-semi-healthy meal.
The worst part is, all this deep-frying didn't improve anything. Good frying can impart or deeply enhance flavor. This didn't; it just coated the vegetables and made them greasy, but the veggies themselves seemed unprepared. So even peeling off the fried layer did not help.
As I was leaving, I saw someone else's salad, and it looked pretty good. So I suspect this place has promise. I'd just say, skip anything fried.
Pros: extensive menu, several locations
Cons: greasy, heavy, too fried

Makes me so Happy! - Edit
This place makes me so happy! 100% vegan and a whole menu of fun items to select. It’s quite comforting to have a whole menu to select from; raw salad to a “shawarma” wrap fries. The menu also discloses gluten free, nut-free, and high protein items. This location is open to 9pm most nights. Super bonus, especially for downtown/business district Chicago.

Great food and service! - Edit
I ordered the orange chicken and it was great! This is a great place if you don’t want to search for the vegan options because everything is vegan on the menu.

The cheese burger I had was delicious. The fries could have used more seasoning. The watermelon Fresca was really good too. The Nachos were bomb.

Yes burger, bleh Mac n cheese - Edit
I wouldn't even call it Mac n cheese cause the noodles didn't have anything on them, the double cheeseburger was reminiscent of a MacDonald's burger (haven't had one in 15 years)

Fantastic Experience - Edit
Native Foods was in DC, but unfortunately left, seems like it was mismanaged. I was in town for a conference, and this was great, so happy to go, food was great, some new changes to the menu and service was wonderful and very fast. kudos to the team. The Korean slider was very good too. Hopefully it will reopen like this in DC area again in the future.

Top notch fast-food vegan - Edit
I tried the jalapeno double cheeseburger, which was featured on their rotating specials menu. Possibly the best vegan burger I've ever had. Nice place to stop if you're killing time on an Amtrak layover.

Chickn sandwich from heaven - Edit
I ordered the peri peri chickn sandwich. Had to double check upon ordering that the menu was all vegan because I’m not from this city and have never been here. Was blown away at the flavours of this multi napkin sandwich. Wow. Wish there was a location in Vancouver BC so I could order from here all the time.

I think I went to a different location than this one, but the only thing is that parking is bad.

Not as good as Denver - Edit
The only other time I went to a Native Foods was in Denver, about three years ago, and it was awesome. This Chicago location was not up to par. Everything was pretty bland, and my cornbread was too dry/burnt to eat. Very friendly staff, but disappointing food.

Great service, awesome selection of healthy and comfort food - Edit
This place offers a great selection of vegan meals ranging from healthy vegetable dishes to tasty comfort foods like hot dog and burgers. The vegan Kale tempeh bowl I had was Top notch, as well as the side of vegan cheese. Atmosphere is rather commercial, but service is super quick and helpful

Excellent meal. The Real Nashville Hot Combo is just hot enough and quite tasty. The lemon grass broccoli is delightful and the peanut butter parfait could pass for a dairy treat.

Not for me - Edit
We stopped here for a quick dinner on our way to a show. It was alright, but incredibly artificial tasting. If you are a fast food fan, this is surely your place. You will love it. However if you want something that is at least a little bit nourishing and not just filling then maybe search for something else.

I had the Real Nashville Hot Combo with sweet potato fries ($1 extra vs some other sides) for dinner. The burger was fine. The sweet potato fries were cold. The place is utilitarian and decent enough.
