Ethiopian food is awesome! - Edit
Has a large section of non-meat items. Ethiopian food is a unique treat, unlike any other cuisine. Some menu options let are like a sampler of many different things, allowing for a medley of flavors.

Yum! - Edit
I’ve been wanting to go here for awhile, after trying Ethiopian food in Columbus a few months back, and this place didn’t disappoint. My husband and I went on an off time so there wasn’t anyone there when we first got there. Reasonable prices, and tasty food. I’ve been wanting to go back ever since. The portions are also a good size, I had leftovers on the veggie combo. And my husband had the Ful. You also get more of the Injera free if you run out.

Cons: Was a little cold when we were in there

Repeat visit - Edit
We get back to this area about once a year. Repeat trip tp Nanyea. It’s never too busy here. Last year we chatted with a guy at a neighboring table for a long time .
Read moreWe had the Vegan Special for two. Lots of tasty, flavorful dishes to share. All served on and with injeri bread to use as utensils.

Best Ethiopian ever! - Edit
Authentic, fabulously delicious - I've eaten at many Ethiopian restaurants, this the best! Nice environment, excellent Ethiopean coffee, sambusa superb appetizer... only flaw - I didn't realize getting more of any of the veggies on the big vegan plate was an extra charge, I'm used to them being unlimited, along with the injira bread - which was also great, btw, authentic brown color, not white.
Read morePros: I've eaten at different Ethiopian all over the, country - this was absolutely the tastiest, The injira bread was authentic (not white)
Cons: Injira was unlimited, but adding more veggies was , extra - I didn't realize that, used to unlimited

Exceptional Ethiopian restaurant - Edit
Top-notch restaurant with far-out tablecloths and especially flavorful stews. The red lentil is the best I have had ANYWHERE. Great spice level--these dishes have a nice little kick. Gluten-free (100% teff) injera is available upon request. Vegan lunch platter has many great dishes included and server is very knowledgable about the ingredients. Definitely one of the best Ethiopian restaurants in the USA.

Don’t miss the traditional coffee service!! - Edit
I LOVE Ethiopian food and I feel so lucky we have this unique option in Dayton! Simple, homely little restaurant serving tasty traditional Ethiopian food and an immersive cultural experience. If you are unfamiliar, Ethiopian food is well-spiced (don’t worry, they will customize the spice level for you!) - and get ready to eat with your hands, they don’t bring out silverware 😃
Read moreMarked vegan options on the in-house menu. I enjoyed the Nanyea Sambusa - it’s a perfectly crispy fried pastry with a tasty lentil filling. I recommend the veggie brunch combo (served all day) - it comes with injera (Ethiopian spongy flatbread made from teff flour) and an array of prepared veggie stews like collard greens, cabbage potatoes, red lentils or ‘misir’ (my favorite! SO GOOD!!), chickpea stew and beets. My omnivore husband enjoyed my vegan combo platter more than his chicken tibs!
But my favorite part was the traditional coffee service. The coffee is strong and comes out in a beautiful traditional pot with burning incense. An experience!
The owner Sofi is such a lovely lady and so kind. Please go out and support her business!
Pros: DELICIOUS FOOD!! Unique cultural experience, Marked vegan options on the menu, Black-owned, woman-owned business
Cons: A little expensive
