Incredible flavours in central Oxford location

A great new addition to the Castle area of Oxford. Large menu with many vegan and vegan option items, complex and delicious flavours across some Indian classics with plant based subs for meat. Great cocktails and kind and friendly service.

Pros: Imaginative menu with many vegan options, Relaxed and welcoming space, Central oxford location

Amazing New Addition to Oxford

Hubby and I decided to treat ourselves last evening to a meal out at the newly opened, and very smart, Namaste Village, and we were not disappointed. From the friendly welcome and attentive staff, to the quick service and amazing food and drinks on offer with so many vegan options, we had a great evening.

In our excitement we probably ordered too much food, and forgot to take any photos, but are happy to be able to have lunch today in the form of doggy bags (cardboard, not plastic) from the food we didn't manage to finish.

We had poppadums and chutneys to nibble on first, and then had the Chick`n Butter Masala and 'Lamb' Labbadar as our mains, Chana Masala and Bombay Aloo as sides, with Gujarati Pulav Rice, and Gujwari Naan. So good! We love to cook Indian food at home from scratch, but never quite manage to recreate the richness of the sauces that we experienced here.

We didn't get to see the dessert menu, but I'm hoping there are a good amount of vegan offerings as we love Indian sweets, and they can definitely be veganised.

So glad Namaste Village has landed in Oxford. It's definitely on our list to return, and we look forward to trying all the other items on the menu.

Pros: Friendly and attentive staff, and smart restaurant, Quick service, Amazing vegan food

Excellent food

The restaurant is fully vegetarian with lots of vegan options too. The menu is really creative as they do dosa, salads etc as well as all the curries and street food they offer. The food we tried was delicious (especially the chickn butter masala) and the service was really friendly and quick.

Excellent all-vegetarian Indian food

Looking at the menu I was surprised it shows the transitional Indian chicken and lamb dishes. However, they are all served with meat-free substitutes. We ordered 4 different curries and all were excellent. Very friendly staff and great service.

Pros: Many different choices , Great Indian dishes, Friendly staff and atmosphere

Deserves higher than 5 stars

So excited Namaste has come to Oxford. Was a huge fan in Norwich and London and just had my first meal at Oxford Namaste. The whole menu is veggie, with many options vegan and gluten free. Absolute heaven for me. The staff are so friendly and happy, making you feel right at home. Can't wait to come back soon. If you are in Oxford, 100% look no more, head to Namaste for the best meal you can have.

Pros: Many gf options, Atmosphere, Friendly staff

Cons: None

I too have been waiting for many a long month since it appeared online for it to appear in the material world! According to https://namastevillage.co.uk/restaurants/oxford/ it really will be opening in two days from now, on Saturday 19th July 2025, bookings being taken! Really looking forward to trying it out, having enjoyed their food in Cambridge and London in the past!
