10/10 one of the best curries I've ever had - Edit
Hands down the best curries (plural!) I've had in Japan, and up there with the best I've had in my life.
Read moreThere are extensive options for vegans (there is a picture of the separate menu in other reviewer photos). I went for the big Thali with daal, chana masala and the chilli tofu. EACH ONE was phenomenal. Literally zero tips. Everything was impeccable. A lot of indian curries are just copy and paste, but each was unique and just filled me with joy while eating them. And I wasn't even hungry! The samosa, roti, and salad were all so great too.
Don't skip this one if you're ever in Sendai.

Lots of veggie options - Edit
Food was very good, Lots of options, English menu and staff spoke reasonable English. Nice break from fighting with Japanese restaurants to serve even one vegetarian dish.

Perfect for vegetarians/vegan - Edit
Even though having Indian food may not be the most desired option when visiting Japan, this was a great and affordable choice for a vegetarian. They had a comprehensive vegan menu and solid food with great service. Also suitable for those who want to have both meat and veg options.
Read morePros: vegan menu with plenty of options, good service, affordable
Cons: restaurant atmosphere wasn't the coziest one

Excellent choice for vegan and vegetarians in Sendai - Edit
My first proper reliably vegan meal after several days visiting Sendai. Luckily close to my hotel and welcoming in early evening without a reservation ( Friday)
Read moreOur server was extremely helpful and reassuring about their separate vegan and vegetarian menus. Had vegan 3 curry thali and my friend had the vegetarian version. They even ensured I got no uncooked onion in my salad!
Lovely depth of flavours in distinctly different curries. Super rotis.
Pros: Vegetarian plain nan, Friendly staff, English spoken, Rose almond milk lassi- amazing.
Cons: Down a spiral staircase ( tricky for less able), Cold by Air con outlet - but I could have moved

Extensive separate vegan menu - Edit
We tasted an assortment of vegan dishes from appetizers to dessert. Even a non-alcoholic beer. The restaurant was full on a Friday night. It is two stories below street level with at least 12 tables for 4. The food was delicious especially the chana masala, the corn soup and the sesame and sugar puri. We plan to return. Our bill was under $40 USD.

Best Indian food I've had in Japan - Edit
In Japan, not all Indian food is created equal. It gets altered to cater to local palettes and loses a lot of the spices. This is not the case at Namaskar.
Read moreTons of vegetarian and vegan options. They also have what they call Taiwanese vegan, which I just thought was temple vegan (no onions or garlic). This is a great option for the IBS fam. It doesn't taste AS good but it's not as bland as it sounds.
The free soup service has egg in it, so be aware.
I'm a repeat customer. Wish I could give this a 5 but I can't because they're not full veg. In this part of Japan, full veg restaurants are extremely rare. This is the best selection of options you can find.
Good English. Good lunch specials.

Really good and safe - Edit
Solid Indian food in a typical setting, big bonus for staff that understands what vegan is and happily accommodates. Try the potato and spinach “croquettes”! It’s ¥1500 for curry, not sure if that’s considered expensive, but it was filling.

Safe choice - Edit
Nice veggie dishes, though a little sweet for my taste.
Read moreTried several items on the menu. My favourite were the green tikkas (if I remember the name correctly - little green round things as a starter) and the vegetable Korma.
Not the best Indian you'll taste, but fine if you have a craving.
Pros: Good amount of veggie dishes on menu., English-speaking staff., Non-smoking.
Cons: A little expensive for the quality of food.
